Asaduddin Owaisi is known more for his anti-BJP & particularly anti-Modi comments than for his politics. Everywhere he speaks he portrays himself as the most secular man the country has ever seen yet every word of his is spoken for Muslims. Not India, but solely for Muslims.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave South-2017 in Chennai, he again made a ridiculous comment. He said –
“I believe that majority of Hindus are secular. But unfortunately, they got carried away by a man who speaks well. This is because Congress failed to stop BJP from coming to power.”
Clearly, his target was Prime Minister Modi. He was basically accusing the Prime Minister of using the religious sentiments of Hindus for political gains. But the question is – Who is Asaduddin Owaisi to speak for Hindus?
Narendra Modi didn’t win a panchayat election that he could have swayed a few thousand people in his favour. He won a general election garnering over 17 crore votes just for the BJP! And if according to Asaduddin Owaisi winning a general election is basically fooling people with speeches, then the Congress has been fooling India for decades!
We Hindus don’t need a secularism certificate from a person who’s brother openly threatened Hindus by saying – ‘15 minute keliye police hata do, dekhlenge kisme kitna dum hai’.A man who speaks only & only about Muslims, a man whose party shouts derogatory anti-Modi slogans when his candidates win, needs not preach Hindus on secularism.
Let’s assume for a minute that everything that Narendra Modi said during his campaign in 2014 was false, & that he wasn’t going to fulfill any of those promises. Even then, I’d rather vote for a person like him who raises the aspirations of people & at least talks about a better India, rather than a party who massacres Sikhs for revenge or portray terrorists as innocents just so it can target one man.
Let alone Hindus, Asaduddin Owaisi isn’t even a leader of the Muslims. If he was, why would he contest the Lok Sabha Elections on just 5 seats, & then go on to win just 1? He got 0.12% votes which goes to show the acceptability of AsaduddinOwaisi as a leader of the Muslim community.
Politicians like him are good for debates, or the occasional jibe at opponents. He has been in politics for quite a considerable period of time now, so would he care to divulge to the public in detail what he done for the Muslim community? He was a partner with the UPA, & yet Muslims are amongst the poorest in the country. Maybe his reason for alliance with the Congress was not the welfare of his community, but simply aligning with a party which has trumpeted for decades that it a ‘secular’ party so that his own image amidst his hardcore voter-base remains intact.
