In a massive blow to the former finance minister, the CBI has raided the house of P Chidambaram and his son Kathi Chidambaram houses in Chennai. The CBI which landed at early hours of 8 AM, seizwd numerous documents which were related to various scams including 2G, Aircel Maixis, INX media (Company owner by Indrani and Peter Mukherjee).
The raids are being conducted in 14 places, including houses and offices in Mumbai, Chennai, Gurugram in connection with the criminal misconduct in grant of FIPB approval, said an official statement.

The father and son both are accused in massive money laundering cases in Aircel maxis scam. The case was filed by Dr Subramanian Swamy, in which he provided complete proof to the court which shows that Chidambaram and his son had made nearly 6 lakh crores of black money and used dubious companies for transaction. He also provided the 21 bank accounts in various countries which were illegally owned by Chidambaram and his son.
The Income Tax department had also produced all evidence pertaining to his illegal companies and benami accounts which were being used for hawala transactions. Dr Swamy had also requested the central government to immediately arrest P Chidambaram on prima facie. The Enforcement directorate had also issued show cause notice to P Chidambaram and his son in alleged violations of the FEMA laws to the tune of Rs 45 crore.
Recently the IT also conducted raids in houses of P Chidambaram relatives in Karnataka where they seized documents related to benami companies of Chidambaram.
Dr Swamy said, “His name is involved in many cases.. there have been a lot of violation that has happened. Process has begun and I hope Chidambaram will be sent where he belongs.”
On the other hand, Congress with no answers, has claimed that BJP was playing vendetta politics to attack their people.
