Special unit of Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads at the Line of Control yesterday night, the Directorate General of Military Operation said today in a press briefing.

“Surgical strikes were carried out by special unit of Indian Army and were based on specific intelligence input of terror groups which were ready to infiltrate into India to carry out another set of terror attacks. “Significant casualties have been caused in these surgical strikes. The operation targeted the terrorists and those backing the terrorists. Despite our persistent appeals to Pakistan to not allow territory under its control to be used for terrorist, nothing was done. The operation has now ended”, DGMO Lt. Gen Ranbir Singh said in the press conference.

It is believed that Indian army crossed the LoC and demolished 8 terror camps, and killed a huge number of terrorists and their backers, which is evident from the fact that Army has now officially acknowledged that significant casualties were there. None of the Indian army soldiers died or were injured.

Even Pakistani PM and ISI have acknowledged that Indian army conducted an attack last night in LoC and they have threatened back India for violating the sovereignty of Pakistan. Along with many terrorists, 2 Pakistan soldiers have also been killed by Indian army in this operation

The Prime Minister himself was present in the war room, reviewing the operation and held a meeting with Cabinet Committee on Security to review the situation along LoC. The PM is reported to have briefed the president, the vice-president, CM of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti, cabinet ministers, chief minister, leaders of opposition and other VIPs regarding this.
