While the entire city was dying during Bhopal gas tragedy, who saved this one family God or……? Read to know!

On the night of December 2nd 1984, India saw one of the worst disasters in the history of mankind. The deadly chemical Methyl Isocyanate (MIC) gas which leaked from the Union Carbide factory in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh killed thousands of people and causing grave damage to people which haunts people even today.

Around 3,800 people were said to have killed in the disaster, the leak caused injuries to 558,125, including 38,478 temporary partial injuries and approximately 3,900 severely and permanently disabling injuries. Others estimate that 8,000 died within two weeks, and another 8,000 or more have since died from gas-related diseases.

On the night of 2-3 December, the family of  SL Kushwaha, a teacher woke up at around 1.30 AM hearing his wife Triveni cough violently and vomiting. After few minutes, he and his children also started developing severe cough and experienced breathlessness. Their eyes were red and realised there was something wrong. When they checked outside, they saw many people running on the streets in panic. Kushwaha then got the information that there was some chemical leak in the union Carbide factory and hence he was advised to leave the place immediately.

However, their chances of escape was very slim as the MIC had already spread to many places in the city. His family who were great devote of the Gods and who knew little about benefits of HOMA, decided to conduct Agnihotra Homa in their place. This was very unusual for them to start a pooja since the entire city was in a hurry to vacate the place.

But just 20 minutes after they started the Homa, their eye burning, breathlessness and uneasiness slowly eased out. In a span of half hour, there was drastic change in the environment of the house. Another family near the Bhopal railway station had little knowledge about Agnihotri and started performing the ritual. In the same area, hundreds of people were killed by the next morning due to exposure to MIC. But this one family survived without any getting affected.

Realizing the beneficial effects, few families came forward to gather all those people affected in their area and started to perform the ritual to minimize the effects of the toxic chemicals. Every day, a group of 8-10 people gathered and started performing Agnihotri homa in the area of 40-50 people and the ash was given to be sprinkled at their houses and was used as medicines. Agnihotra eye drops were put in the eye of the people. It is said that people got immediate relief for the burning sensation.

In the year 1985, Barry Rathner also visited the place and studied the effects of Agnihotri ritual and how it was helpful to people in the time of disaster. Impressed with the way Agnihotri worked, he started spreading the message of Agnihotri and started working in the MIC affected area.

One of the best example was O N Prajapati’s family. He and his family had suffered severely with the MIC explosion. In this circumstances, the family was advised to perform Agnihotri homa and within a week’s time, his health showed drastic improvement and his kids were fully cured for the side affects. However his wife took around 2 months to cure. But one of his son was diagnosed with Tuberculosis, he was advised to be taken out of the city and also was given with huge medications. But Prajapati decided to give Agnihotri medication. Within few months his son was completely cured. His wife who was carrying when the incident happened surprisingly delivered a very healthy baby with no genetic defects.

Many news channels published the reports as to how Agnihotri was helping victims who were affected by the gas exposure. The Hindu published a story on April 7, 1985.

Some of the scientists who heard the story, conducted many studies on the same and said that most scientists will not accept that radioactivity can be reduced by  performing Agnihotri, for them anything burning is just a chemical process, but what they forget is, if Agnihotri was just a chemical process then the nuclei of the would not be changed and therefore the radioactivity could not be affected at all.

Just 2 years after Bhopal gas tragedy, there was a major nuclear explosion in the Chernobyl, Russia which again killed thousands of people. After the incident, there was a meeting held between the Soviet Union and Germany where in the scientists had proposed a plan for producing Angihotri ash which was a direct cure for the radioactivity expose.

So it was proven that Agnihotri was a perfect cure for those affected with Radioactivity. It is we who need to understand the science and scientific facts behind the mechanism of Agnihotri before we call it blind belief.

The family which performed had no idea that it was an antidote for radiation, all they knew was it had some beneficial effects. And their experiment and brave decision turned out to be a life savior for hundreds of people.
