Rahul Gandhi has a history of putting his own men in deep trouble with his immature statements. After creating ruckus by misrepresenting PM Modi’s statement on Pakoda business, Rahul Gandhi fell into his own trap, this time.
On February 8th, Mumbai Congress president Sanjay Nirupam was even arrested after he decided to stage a bizarre protest by selling “Pakodas” in the streets on Mumbai.
What had PM Modi actually said?
“If a man selling pakodas outside the Zee TV office takes home Rs 200 at the end of the day, is that not employment?”. This was the statement given by PM Modi in an interview with Zee TV. Nowhere in the statement PM Modi urged the educated youths to sell “Pakodas” and earn just Rs 200.
Rahul Gandhi embraces “Pakodas” in Karnataka!!!
It was interesting to see Rahul Gandhi embracing the “Pakodas” even though his mentor and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram had equated selling Pakodas with begging. In the poll bound Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi started to create one after another blunders.
It was announced that Rahul Gandhi would be attending a Sufi shrine at Kalaburgi but not historic Virupaksha temple at Hampi. Later it was found out that Rahul Gandhi didn’t visit that temple due to the prevailing superstition that, whichever politician visit this temple would lose their power in the elections.
Now, a picture has surfaced where Rahul Gandhi is seen consuming pakodas along with senior Congress leaders including Chief Minister of Karnataka Mr Siddaramaiah. Even the Congress President is now consuming the Pakodas which is sold by poor shop vendors. Isn’t this ‘acche din’ for the poor vendors?
In 2014, the Congress leaders had mocked PM Modi by saying that a “chai wala” cannot become a Prime Minister, and now, they have equated pakoda business to begging. But now, Rahul Gandhi has put the Congress leaders into deep embarrassment.
The behavior of Congress had earlier made it evident that selling pakodas is a cheap job. Now, what will they say after spotting Rahul Gandhi at the door steps of pakoda vendors?
Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram’s statement made BJP President Amit Shah angry!
In a hurry to attack PM Modi, the senior Congress leader made a derogatory statement by equating “Pakoda” selling to begging. Here’s what he said “Even selling pakodas is a ‘job’ said PM. By that logic, even begging is a job. Let’s count poor or disabled persons who are forced to beg for a living as ’employed’ people”.
This angered the BJP President as he slammed P Chidambaram saying “It is better to sell pakodas than remain jobless. Selling pakodas is not a matter of shame. It is a shame that P Chidambaram is comparing it with begging”.
“Joblessness is a topic of debate. But let me point out that in so many decades, no one has found the perfect solution. A lot of learned MPs here have talked about this. I admit it…I admit that there is joblessness. But you point fingers at us, question us, when you have been ruling for 55 years”, this was how BJP President Amit Shah questioned the Congress party for doing nothing to increase the employment rate.
