After Karnataka, Congress is planning to form govt in J&K? Sonia Gandhi has sprung back to action and do you know what’s her masterplan?

Days after the BJP-PDP (People Democratic Party) broke alliance in Jammu & Kashmir, the state is witnessing a major political upheaval. Initially all parties denied possibility of coalition and the state underwent Governor’s rule. Even now also the major parties are ruling out possibility of an alliance but whatever is happening at the background indicates something else. There’s much more hidden in the picture that is not catching everyone’s eye.

Although senior leaders of the Congress party are saying that there is no question, for now, or in the future, of forging an alliance with the People Democratic Party (PDP) and blaming BJP for trying out wrongful means for forming the Government in Jammu & Kashmir the situation appears to be completely different.

Reports are claiming that a secret meet was held at former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s house in Delhi to ponder over all the possibilities for forming government in Jammu and Kashmir. Prominent Congress leaders like Ambika Soni, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Karan Singh and P Chidambaram attended the meeting to discuss the agenda Kashmir, specifically ‘Policy and Planning’ of the Congress’ Kashmir committee which is chaired by Manmohan Singh, as per official sources.

It is also revealed that Congress is in talks with PDP, smaller parties and Independents and trying their best to form Government in the state.Another sensational information which is adding more weight age to the Congress trying to join hands with PDP is an upcoming meeting likely to be held between the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister & Chief of PDP Mehbooba Mufti and the high command and chairperson of Congress party Sonia Gandhi.

Another meeting on the cards for discussing is of the Congress MLAs in Srinagar on July 3. The meeting will be attended by Ambika Soni ,Ghulam Nabi Azad among other leaders.According to Republic TV serious talks and efforts are ongoing between the Congress and the PDP to form a majority in the state

It is indicated that the Congress is taking this move to stop BJP from forging any new alliance (rumours of which BJP is ruling out) plus in the fear of Central Government replacing Governor NN Vohra with a more hardline governor, perhaps a Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) functionary after the culmination of the annual Amarnath pilgrimage next month.

To form Government in the state any party or alliance has to cross the majority mark of 44.  Congress has 12 seats and PDP has 28 seats. Congress-PDP alliance would have 40 seats which is four short of the 44 seats required for a majority. As a solution for this, sources claim that the Congress and PDP are looking for support from the JKPDF’s Hakeem Mohammed Yaseen (Khan Sahib seat), CPI(M)’s MY Tarigami (Kulgam seat) and three Independent MLAs – Engineer Rashid (Langate seat), Syed Mohammed Baqir Rizvi (Zanskar seat) and Pawan Kumar Gupta (Udhampur seat).

But for making it success, the Congress will have to either break its alliance with its ally, the National Conference (NC), or take it also with them for which the NC leader Omar Abdullah had already ruled out any possibility as he didn’t want to go in an alliance with any party and had demanded fresh elections.

The masters and brethren of Congress sitting across the border are clearly feeling the heat of Army being given a free hand. They hope to stem that by doing this. The Centre should not allow a PDP-Congress rule as it will be disastrous to the country and will be ruled by the Pakistan with the help of some of the Congress agents.
