Recently, the Quantico TV show created massive controversy by projecting Hindus as terrorists in an episode. The episode entitled The Blood of Romeo, aired on June 1 had a scenes where in Priyanka Chopra has acted as an FBI agent Alex Parrish who thwarts a terror plot days before India-Pakistan summit. In the episode, Priyanka Chopra finds an Hindu religious symbol Rudhraksh chain in the neck of the suspected terrorist because of which she concludes that the terrorist is a Hindu.
The entire sequence is scripted in such a way that a Hindu Nationalist plots a nuclear terror attack and tries to pin the blame on Pakistan. This scene created massive uproar in India, with people questioning the producers and writers about their intention to malign India in a global platform. Priyanka Chopra also faced backlash and got trolled badly for accepting such a role which maligns India and Hindus in specific.
Internet was taken by storm with people questioning the ulterior motives of the producer after they depicted Hindus and Indians as terrorists while projecting terrorist Nation Pakistan as innocent.
Noted writer and Hindu scholar Mr David Frawley in United States also made a strong statement against the serial saying “The myth of Hindu terror, by a fake story, enters American television with the help of Priyanka Chopra. Would any Pakistani actress betray Pakistan or Islam the way she betrays India and Hinduism?”
Following negative publicity of the serial, the ABC studios and the producer of the TV serial have now apologized to the Indian audience for projecting Hindus as terrorists. In their statement ABC said “ABC Studios and the executive producers of Quantico would like to extend an apology to our audience who were offended by the most recent episode, The Blood of Romeo.” ABC added that “the episode has stirred a lot of emotion, much of which is unfairly aimed at Priyanka Chopra, who didn’t create the show, nor does she write or direct it. She has no involvement in the casting of the show or the storylines depicted in the series.”
ABC also explained that “Quantico is a work of fiction. The show has featured antagonists of many different ethni cities and backgrounds, but in this case we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.”
But it is indeed shameful for Priyanka Chopra to have accepted a role which maligns her own country and her own people. Surely a Pakistani who have refused to enact such a role which would degrade his country despite knowing the fact Pakistan houses terrorists. But in India,, for Bollywood which is mostly ruled by D mafia money comes first. Most of these actors do not mind degrading their own country and shaking hands with terrorists.
Not once till now has the bollywood stood with our soldiers, not once have they spoken against the atrocities of Pakistan against Indian soldiers, but they will be the first ones to go begging to the neighboring country for peace talks. For bollywood actors, the money chest is in India, while their heart is on Pakistan. So one should not be surprised at their extreme love for the terror country where their boss who rules Bollywood also resides.
It is only common people who become fools supporting those who do not even have gratitude.
