Just a month back, there were shocking reports from Tamil Nadu where the two very famous Shiva temples were forcibly being occupied by some Christian groups. These people who entered the temple premises said that the temple land belonged to them and the Hindus will have to vacate it immediately.
The Christian groups had even started to offer prayers to Jesus in the temple and asked the Hindus not to enter the temple. These incidents happened in the Kalaiyar Koil and Sivagangai temples which had created huge tension Madurai.

Now, just after a month, another incident has been reported from the same district of Madurai, where Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple lands are being forcibly occupied by Christian groups and missionaries. This incident was reported in a Tamil Newspaper which said that land worth Rs 100 crores was being illegally encroached by Christian groups. Following the development, few locals reported this to the district authorities. When the land documents were verified, it was found that the land belonged to the temple.

When preliminary inquiry was made, it was found that a Church called Salem Jesus Christ was occupying the temple land on Sannathi street which also housed a private school. Later the authorities also discovered that the Church had also felicitated the construction of 55 illegal houses which were also given electricity and water supply.
Officials of the Revenue Department transferred the ownership of a temple hall (mandap) to a private school, while municipality and electricity department officials have allocated the temple lands to private persons and registered them (https://swarajyamag.com/insta/church-found-illegally-occupying-thiruparankundram-murugan-temple-lands).
The locals in the temple said that it was a larger plan of the Church to encroach the Temple land by illegally occupying a small section of lands and then expanding its other parts. He said that this has become common site in various other temple lands as well. He accused the authorities and the politicians do not take any action against the Christian groups for appeasement politics but instead support them in all illegal activities helping them encroach temple lands.
Looks like the Missionaries are playing a bigger game which is being sponsored by foreign-funded NGO’s with an intention to attack temples in Tamil Nadu. The media which otherwise would be jumping to highlight the smallest incident has shown no interest to raise questions against Christian missionaries who are attacking Temples on a daily basis in Tamil Nadu.
