Amethi: Smriti Irani arranges for “mobile hall” that screens URI film for free, just because Rahul Gandhi and family couldn’t build a theatre in 60 years

I was stunned to know that even though the Gandhi dynasty ruled Amethi for 50 years, still there is not even a single cinema theatre in this constituency. From Sanjay Gandhi to Rajiv Gandhi, from Sonia Gandhi to Rahul Gandhi, none could develop Amethi even though it was a high profile constituency.

But the work of developing one of the least developed constituency in India is undertaken by BJP leader and union minister Smrithi Irani. Interesting thing is she is not even a member of parliament from Amethi, yet she is doing the work that should have been done by Rahul Gandhi.

Now Smriti Irani is in news after she has arranged a “mobile digital theatre” that screens the Bollywood blockbuster “Uri: The Surgical Strike” four times a day at a spice factory for the public, that too free of cost. The first screening took place on the 70th Republic Day of India.

150 people can watch the movie at once in the mobile digital theatre and the timings of the screening are  9.20 am, 1.30 pm, 5 pm and 8 pm. And till date around 2000 people have watched the movie.

Amethi was formed in the year 1967 and till date it has been under Congress party’s stronghold, yet they couldn’t build a theatre for the people. So the credit of getting “mobile digital theatre” goes to Rahul Gandhi.

While airing the first show on Republic Day in Amethi, Smriti Irani in her message to public said:

  • Didi (referring to herself) ka to kaam hai sewa karna…Naujawan prerit hon bhartiya sena ke shaurya ko dekh kar, yogdan ko dekh kar, maa bharti ke sapoot kaise ghar baar tyaag kar, apne praano ki aahuti dete hain, yeh is film mein dikhaaya jata hai

English Translation: It is didi’s job to do service…The youth are encouraged to see the courage and contribution of the Army as the movie shows how sons of the soil sacrifice everything”.

General secretary of the BJP’s youth wing Vishuv Mishra, who has been given responsibility of coordinating the screening “There is no working movie theatre in Amethi and there was a demand from the public to view this movie. So Smriti Irani arranged for the screenings and personally addressed the audience through video-conferencing on Republic Day”.

He added “Our message is especially to the youth, to tell them about the sacrifices of the country’s soldiers during the surgical strike, which is being propagated as a lie by Congress people. We are sure that the youth of Amethi will do a surgical strike on Congress president Rahul Gandhi by defeating him or any member of his family for the lies that they spread”.
