Amit Shah said “Stop Me If You Can”, but Mamata couldn’t! Big win for BJP as the Calcutta high court grants permission for “Save Democracy” Rath Yatra in West Bengal

In a big setback to Mamta Banerjee Government the Calcutta high court has today allowed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to proceed with its ‘Save Democracy’ Rath Yatra in West Bengal

Few days back, the BJP had planned to hold three Rath Yatras in the region. The Rath Yatras was scheduled to kick-off from Cooch Behar on 7th of December and then from Kakdwip in South 24 Parganas district on December 9 and from Tarapith temple in Birbhum district on December 14 but CM Mamta Banerjee led state Government refused permission for the proposed ‘yatra’, citing intelligence reports of possible communal violence in areas where the party was planning the rallies.

In a letter to the BJP, the state government had stated, “The areas proposed to be covered by the Yatra are, because of publicity and propaganda, gradually turning into communally sensitive pockets. Intelligence reports indicate that public perception is that the religious overtones of the yatra will be turned into communal propaganda.

Furthermore, during the period cited, major festivals and events are scheduled, and it requires a heavy deployment of the resources of the government, including the police force. We are therefore of the opinion that, for the reasons which have been elaborately mentioned. It is not possible to allow the yatra as proposed by the BJP.”

The court slammed the reasoning of the Bengal government and said it would be inappropriate to not allow the petitioner to organise the yatras. The court granted permission to BJP and mentioned certain terms and conditions that need to be followed while Rath Yatras. Now BJP will be conducting Rath Yatras in the region from December 22- 26.

It is well known that why Mamta Banerjee led TMC Government has denied permission to BJP. The TMC very well know that it is BJP which will shake the party’s ground in Bengal and has ability to affect the electoral equations in the state.

BJP President Amit Shah has promised that the Rath Yatra will not be cancelled and dared Mamata Banerjee that he will conduct Rath Yatras for sure in the state and he will see who stops him from doing that. He said “The yatra will take place, all the three yatras will happen. In all of them, my participation is confirmed. Let Mamata Banerjee stop me”.

It is a big boost to BJP as it will morally boost the cadre of BJP in the state.BJP should take best use of this opportunity to end the dictatorship of Mamta Banerjee in Bengal and uproot the Trimool Congress in the region in upcoming elections
