“Tortured” the Hindu’s from all over the world, the people come and take shelter here in India!! “Anybody living in India is a Hindu, Muslims in India are also Hindus”- RSS chief Sri Mohan Bhagwat has spoken out a strong message.
“India was united for so long. There was unity among the Hindus,” Bhagwat said. He regarded India as a nation of Hindus.
Hindutva is different from Hinduism; he spoke during a public function at the Swami Vivekananda Maidan in the heart of Tripura’s capital. Bhagwat who is on a 5 day tour to Tripura said, “We have no enmity with anyone. We want welfare of all. To unite all is the meaning of Hindutva”. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said “the organization is not a front for any political party and it is often misinterpreted. RSS believes in protecting the rights of every Indian and end to all atrocities”. The “Sanatan dharma” wants to work together with everybody on board.
He said RSS does not associate or work for any political party, we are only towards the agenda of “Hindutva”. We intend to unite all religions in India and relate to maintain peace.
While addressing saints in Agartala, he said: “India is a multi-religious and multicultural nation where every citizen has right to make his own choice and Sangh does not believe in interfering with the personal liberty. However, Sangh is committed to protecting the motherland.” Bhagwat said: “RSS conducts Shakhas on daily basis with the volunteers. Shakha is about physical and mental exercises. It has nothing to do with religion.”
In order to get better and well trained at National-building and self-development, he urged the Hindu’s to get organised and join the “RSS Shakhas”. He believes this was the only place where the Hindu youth and other individuals can build up a better nation.
Maintaining that India is a land of Hindus, he said “tortured” Hindus from across the world come to the country and get shelter. The RSS supremo said, “Hindus believe in truth, but the world respects strength. There is strength in organization. Being organised is the natural law.”
While throwing light over the Partition, he said parts of India got separated in 1947, leading to the weakening of the spirit of Hindutva and a decline of the “Hindu Samaj”. Highlighting the rich heritage of the country, he said, “A perturbed and confused world is looking at India for a new world order that can accommodate the materialist as well as the idealist.”
For those who give these statements a communal twist and turn, let’s have a look at what our Union minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader M. Venkaiah Naidu slammed attempts to create controversies whenever there is a reference made to the word “Hindu”!!
“Hindu is a not a religious concept. Hindu is a cultural identity,” the urban development and parliamentary affairs minister said at an event in 2014. It was days after Bhagwat said “India is a Hindu nation and Hindutva is its identity”.
“If Hindu is a religion, then why this (The) Hindu newspaper?… If Hindu is a religion, then why Hindustan Times newspaper and why Hindi akhbaar (newspaper) Hindustan? And why Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT)? Then why Hindustan Aeronautics Limited? Then why Hindustan Shipyard? I can give 125 examples like this. These are not the names given by (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi or Venkaiah Naidu or somebody. This has been there in our traditions. On August 15, what do you say? ‘Jai Hind’: does it mean to say Hinduon ko Jai aur bakio ko nahi. Aisa hai kya?”(Is this Jai Hind only for Hindu’s and not for the others?) Naidu said.
