Big Breaking!!! Mukesh Ambani launches the JioPhone; The price of the phone is “Zero”

Independence Day, the nation will witness the beginning of a new era. Yes, on the Annual General Meeting, Mr Ambani launched a phone which has all the qualities of a smart phone but looks like a feature phone. In India there are around 50 crores feature phone users who are deprived from internet usage. So Mr Ambani has given great news the people who are unable to afford a costly mobile phone.

On the 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries Limited. Chairman Mukesh Ambani, who addressed the AGM introduced Jio announced the launch of the 4G-enabled handset.

“India Ka Smartphone – the JioPhone”, this is how Mr Ambani introduced the JioPhone to the Indians.

These are the features available in the JioPhone

  • 4 inch QVGA display
  • FM radio
  • Torch light
  • Headphone jack
  • SD card slot
  • Four way navigation system
  • Phone Contact
  • Call History
  • Jio Apps

On the Jio feature phone, voice calls will be free and starting 15th August, users will have access to unlimited data for Rs 153 per month. A weekly data plan of Rs 53 will also be available for Jio phone.

The cost of the phone is “Zero” but the customer needs to deposit Rs 1500 in order to curb the misuse of this facility. The cell phone will be launched on August 24 for testing but pre bookings will start from August 24 and from the first week of September the cell phone will be in the hands of the users.

Meanwhile, the company has launched a device called Jio phone Cable TV at Rs 309 per month using which you can connect the JioPhone with any TV and not just a smart TV. Users can opt for Rs 309 that will allow them to watch video of their choice for 3-4 hours on large screen.

He also said that Reliance Jio 4G service was launched on September 5, 2016 and it had crossed 50 million subscribers in just 83 days and 100 million in 170 days. He also said that on an average 6 lakh subscribers are added per day.
