Big News!!! 18% hike in Direct Tax Collections amounts to Rs 7,100 crore in FY 2017-18 in Northeast India

It’s back to back hit scored by PM Modi this year. Our Prime Minister yet again proves that criticisms are the key to success in life. Here’s yet another milestone achieved by him:

Union Minister of State for Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla today has revealed that the Northeast region has witnessed over 18% growth in direct tax collections at Rs 7,097 crore in the year 2017-18.

“The net tax collection was Rs 7,097 crore from the North East in 2017-18. This was a growth of 18.3% over the previous year,” Shukla said at a press conference. During the same fiscal, the Income Tax Department has brought 1.89 lakh more people under the ambit of tax net, he added.

Confidence is Key! PM Modi’s trust in North East India’s potential yields results; files 18% hike in Direct Tax Collections, amounting to Rs 7,100 crore in FY 2017-18.

“With this, the total tax payers in North East currently stand at around 7.38 lakh persons,” Shukla said, adding that these figures do not include Sikkim. He also informed that about 1.2 crore people in the seven states are exempted from the tax net as per section 10(26) of the Income Tax Act.

As per section 10(26) of the Income Tax Act, a member of a Scheduled Tribe residing in any area specified in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution or in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura is exempted from paying tax on any income that accrues from any source in the area or state.

“We even cannot force them to file IT Returns. So, we have limitations in increasing the tax payable persons in this region. However, we are progressing well.We need to develop the e-connectivity more in North East. There are lapses in connectivity, which is affecting online return filing. This is our priority. We cannot give a timeline, but we will address it soon,” Shukla added.

NDTV when GDP was down to 5.7% in Q1, economy is in serious condition.

NDTV when GDP hit 7.7% in Q4 , Economy is good bad or … ??

Kaha se kar pate ho aisa !!

Of course the economy is in bad condition for NDTV even at 7.7% GDP growth, considering this is a “channel” that’s struggling to pay even their rent, again not that we are complaining.Whatsoever tried and tested in our nation, the problem with these news channels is many people do believe these channels and create a perception that something is bad under PM Modi government such is the ignorance and unawareness!

When failures from the Government can be criticized by these people, then why not make an attempt to appreciate these success milestones? Aren’t we all happy with what benefits our nation? Or is Party bias all that we support? Why not support these developments, keeping apart hatred and religion?
