Retaining a state is always a difficult thing because of the anti-incumbency wave and the BJP has to swim against this in the upcoming assembly elections in the three states- Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh. We have had seen how the Bharatiya Janata Party had heavily relied on the Modi wave to win the state elections one after another. Even this time the Modi factor will play a prominent factor.
But there are many more things that are going in favour of the BJP. The main thing is there are no CM candidates from the Congress party. Yes, this is true. Even though the Election Commission has released the poll dates, the Congress party has restricted itself from naming the CM candidate.
That’s because the Congress party doesn’t have a CM face that is loved by the people. Recently the former Madhya Pradesh CM and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh had said “Whoever gets ticket, even if rivals, make sure that they win. There is only one work for me that I abstain from public events and not campaign for the party because my speeches cuts Congress votes”.
Even the Congress party leaders clearly know that they don’t have a suitable leader who will be accepted by the mass in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh. So they have restricted from naming the CM candidate and this will now be used effectively by the Bharatiya Janata Party during the polls.
Another prominent factor that is in favour of the BJP is that all the three states are having strong leaderships. From Shivraj Singh Chauhan to Vasundhara Raje to Raman Singh, all have their own influence in the state. Due to their own personal charisma, they can influence the voters.
Cracks within the Congress and allies:
The main factor due to which Rahul Gandhi is claiming that he will be the PM of India in 2019 is because of the grand alliance. But well ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the grand alliance has fallen flat. From Mayawati to CPI (M), all have decided to fight on their own instead of joining hands with the Congress party. Mayawati had even said that the Congress party is scared of the BJP.
Several opinion polls, including an article by the Congress party’s mouth piece had said that BJP will be clearly crossing the majority mark. It had also said that it incase there take places an alliance, then the Congress party can tackle the BJP. Now that there is no grand alliance, the Congress party can’t even dream of winning Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh.
And the final thing which is in favour of Bharatiya Janata Party is the Modi wave. The Modi wave is very high in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh and even in Uttar Pradesh when compared to the others states. Even in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, these states had swept the polls completely. Due to PM Modi, in which ever constituency the battle is neck to neck, it will be bagged by BJP due to PM Modi’s last minute aggressive rallies.
Whoever wins Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh, they will easily have a clear lead during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
