Which was the last Bollywood movie you watched? Did it contain anything portraying Hinduism in a low light or did it hurt the emotions of a Hindu? If yes, what have you done about it? Ignored?
Yes that’s what most of us do, don’t we? How many of us literally go ahead and fight for the respect and dignity of Hinduism? Some of the big producers and directors of Bollywood joining along with the big stars, corporate houses, financial institutions and political parties are trying to intentionally show Hinduism in a low light and spread false message to the audience. This might be with a pure intention of making money but the right to destroy the 12000 years old religion is not granted to anyone in this country.
Today I talk about some of such movies, which have tried and portrayed Hinduism and its beliefs in a wrong form.
1. PK Vs. Baahubali
Both the movies were directed by the legendary directors like Raj Kumar Hirani for PK and S.S Rajamouli for Baahubali. Both the movies were blockbusters and stood in the top ten grosser of Indian cinema history ever. But the way Hinduism was portrayed by both the directors was totally unique and different. Hinduism was mocked in ‘PK’ especially the Shiva attire worn by a person running around and the same Hinduism was depicted in a beautiful way in Baahubali.
What a Shameful act? The title of this movie had created huge protests some days back. The goddesses worshipped in India are been termed with such vulgarity. Why is Hinduism taken so lightly by the filmmakers? Would the same be allowed in other religions as well? Would the religions accept this kind of vulgarity? Can anyone openly go ahead and call our goddesses sexy? But can you imagine what will happen if someone makes movies with the names like “Sexy Fatima” or “Sexy Mary”?
3.The sacred “Tilak” on foreheads of Dons and gangsters
If you observe the big banner movies like Vastav (1999) starring Sanjay Dutt and Sarkar 3 (2017) starring Big B Amitabh Bachchan depicts dons and gangsters in the movie wearing the sacred Tilak of Hindus. It portrays a negative message to the audience. What are these movie directors trying to depict? All gangsters are spiritual? Or does it mean that God is guarding them against all sins?
Sarkar 3 (2017)
4.Hindu priests are always shown in a poor light/ Hilarious character
Bollywood movies are quite well-known to portray Hindu priests as clowns or the ones born to spread false beliefs. Hindu priests are always been targeted on their characters and narrated in the movies. Some of the examples are OH MY GOD (2012), Mother India (1957), Toilet Ek Prem Katha (2017) and many more of them.
OH MY GOD (2012)
Mother India (1957)
Toilet Ek Prem Katha (2017)
5.Church fathers are direct descendants of God!!
I am not saying it. But Bollywood movies seem to be claiming this from decades. Church fathers are saints from god and Hindu priests are criminals and smugglers. Why should this discrimination be accepted by the Hindus?
Amar Akbar Anthony (1977)
Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na (1994)
6.Muslims are innocent- Noble human beings but are tortured and humiliated in India. Really!!
The barbarism and butcherness shown by Muslims on the Hindus in India is shown in a completely different picture. Bollywood directors try to show a clean and pure image of Muslims in India and in foreign countries. But what about the injustice happening on Hindus by the Muslims?
Chak de India (2007)
My name is Khan (2010)
7.All Pakistani’s are angels!!
8.Indian army kills innocent Pakistanis for no reason!!
Indian army kills innocent Pakistani’s without any base of proof. Indian army was condemned so low in the movie Main Hoon Na directed by Farah Khan. The movie also had a Hindu terrorist in it and he had a movie to destroy India and its people.
Main Hoon Na (2004)
