Bollywood’s favourite Maa, Reema Lagoo passes away

The Hindi Film Industry lost it’s favourite ‘Maa’ today. Reema Lagoo essayed the role of a mother in many bollywood movies. She played mom to several bollywood biggies on screen. She was 59 years old. She was a part of the industry for more than 40 years. Some of her memorable movies include Kal Ho Na Ho, Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hein Kaun, Vaastav, Jis Desh Mein Gangaa Rehte Hein.

She first started her career in Hindi & Marathi movies. Reema Lagoo was born Gurinder Bhadbhade.  Her mother was also an actress. Her mother, Mandakini Bhadbhade who was known for the drama Lekere Udand Jahalee on the Marathi stage. Reema Laggo’s acting skills were first noticed when she was a student in high school in Pune.

She was nominated for several awards & was appreciated for playing the quintessential mom on screen. She was also appreciated for her work in Television shows like ‘Shrimaan Shrimati and ‘Tu Tu Main Main.’

Reema Lagoo complained of chest pain on Wednesday night after which she was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri where she breathed her last. She will always be remembered for her contribution to Indian Cinema. She reminds us that character actors, add soul to the movie. What is Bollywood, without ‘Maa.’
