Congress Vice-president & prime entertainer Rahul Gandhi, today said that the UP government’s decision to wave off the farmers’ loan was a ‘partial relief’ but a step in the right direction and asked the centre to evolve a national response to the widespread distress. Gandhi said that the centre should not discriminate amongst the states and no politics should be played with farmers suffering across the country.
“A partial relief for UP farmers, but a step in the right direction. Congress has always supported loan waivers for farmers in distress,” he said on twitter. Gandhi’s tweet came a day after Yogi Adityanath had announced a loan waiver of Rs 36,359 Crore for small & marginal farmers in the state.
Delivering on BJP’s poll promise the Yogi Adityanath Government yesterday decided to waive their crop loans up to Rs 1 lakh, totalling a staggering Rs 36,359 crore. The move will benefit over 2.15 crore farmers, besides 7 lakh others who had secured loans which turned into Non-performing Assets (NPAs).
Raga’s statement comes as a big relief to UP CM yogi Aditynath. Yogi in his last address in the parliament had said that he was actually one year younger than Rahul Gandhi. With the Namo wave sweeping past all states, is Raga the next ‘big’ fish to join the BJP. God, I apologise for calling him big. But being a Modi fan, we are aiming at- ‘Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas.’ Unfortunately Rahul baba also comes under ‘Sab.’ I am impressed by his tweeting skills though.
Just imagine, the congress speaking about the farmers is like Pakistan speaking about peace. Ultimately, his job is to entertain & he’s succeeding at it. I’m happy for Raga- he knows something at least.
