Breaking! Warrant issued against Kejriwal for tweet questioning PM Modi’s educational qualification.

Arvind Kejriwal’s tweet questioning PM Modi’s educational qualification has landed him in legal trouble. A court in Assam has issued an arrest warrant against Kejriwal for failing to appear in the defamation case filed against him for his provocative tweet last year. Kejriwal had barked: “Modiji 12 pass hein. Uske baad ki degree farzi hai. The tweet was sent on December 15.

Kejriwal is also being tried for defamation in a Delhi Court in a case filed by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The bailable warrant is the latest in the series of troubles that the AAP leader finds himself over his venomous utterances.

On Monday, judicial magistrate Naba Kumar Deka Baruah in Diphu in Karbi Anglong District issued the warrant against the AAP chief after a no-show on April 7. Earlier, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Member Surjo Rongpar, filed a case against Kejriwal for his defamatory remarks against the PM. Rongpar is also a member of the BJP.

Kejriwal’s lawyer Gurpreet Singh Uppal said that the Delhi Chief Minister was busy with the MCD elections to be held on April 23 and it was not possible for him to be present in person in court. The Delhi Chief Minister has been demanding PM Modi’s college and university certificates be made public, alleging that the Prime Minister had furnished wrong information.

The Modi-led government has denied the charges. The case will now be heard on May 8. Senior Congress disaster committee member Digvijay Singh tweeted in favour of Farziwal.
