26/11 a date which India can never forget and it is also very important to never forgive you betrayed people of this country -The Congress party. It’s been 11 years but the wound the incident left is still fresh.
Even before the tears of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s mother could dry up, the Congress general secretary, Rahul Gandhi went partying with his pals at a farmhouse on Delhi’s outskirts.
The Prince partied hard, till 5 in the morning, on Sunday at the ‘sangeet’ for the forthcoming wedding of Samir Sharma, his childhood friend. They were at a sprawling farmhouse at Radhey Mohan Chowk, the haven of people who lead charmed lives beyond Chhatarpur.
Just a day earlier, his sister Priyanka Vadra had caused a flutter by saying the late Indira Gandhi would have “made us very proud” by the way she would have reacted to the Mumbai terror strikes.
Rahul Gandhi seemed to be completely out of sync with the mood of the nation post-26/11. “When everyone is cancelling parties or just keeping them low-key, Rahul Gandhi had no business to be celebrating. His action makes us lose faith in future leaders,” said Ajay Bahl, a leading corporate lawyer who was trapped in the thick of the action on 26/11 at The Oberoi, Mumbai, but managed to escape with the help of the hotel staff.
The Lack Lusture response:
While the terror attacks drew widespread condemnation from all across the globe, Congress, who was in power back then, had a lacklustre response to the heinous nights of terror that Pakistan had unleashed on India.
After the gruesome 26/11 terror attacks, it is worthy to note that the Indian Air Force was ready to take action against Pakistan, however, the Congress government decided against it.
After the Balakot airstrikes, retired IAF personnel said, “After the Mumbai 26/11 attacks, we had planned a similar airstrike on Muzaffarabad. I was leading the Sukhoi squadron. Our plan was kept under wraps and I had to lie to my boys that we were going somewhere else”. “We were deployed and waited for nearly a month. But government approval never came… Today, I am glad the strike happened”.
This revelation was made by then Wing Commander Mohonto Panging who was all set to lead a squadron of Mirage 2000s and Su-30s in a precision airstrike on Muzaffarabad in PoK but did not get Congress government’s nod.
The attack on Hindu Dharma in the name of Hindu Terror:
It is interesting to note that the Congress’ minority appeasement politics did not escape the eyes of even the U.S. ambassador to India.
Mulford observed that the Congress party chose to engage in dangerous identity politics for electoral benefits. He writes, “The party chose to pander to Muslims’ fears, providing the impetus for those in the Muslim community who will continue to play up the conspiracy theory.
On December 6, 2010, a book titled “26/11 : RSS ki Sazish” (26/11: Conspiracy by RSS) written by Aziz Burney, who is the Editor-in-Chief of Urdu Sahara newspaper was released by Congress General Secreatary Digvijay Singh on in Delhi.
The book is about the terrorists attack on Mumbai which went on for 3 days – from November 26, 2008 to November 29th, 2008 – killing 164 people and wounding at least 308.
Targets were specifically picked up by the terrorists for maximum psychological impact and damage to certain communities. For example, Leopold cafe, a place frequented by Westerners was attacked. So was the Nariman House Jewish community centre! Within hours, the conversations between the terrorists and their Pakistani handlers were intercepted and recorded.
One of the terrorist – Ajmal Kasab – was caught alive thanks to the courage of a police constable Tumaram Omble. He revealed the details of his handlers – including Hafeez Saeed in Pakistan. Despite the various loony extremist and fringe elements in Pakistani media making it a “conspiracy of the Hindu RSS– Pakistani Government and the top media group Dawn admitted that Ajmal Kasab indeed a Pakistani.
Not just that, Dawn TV went on to show how all the terrorists apart from Kasab – who were killed – were from Pakistan. In fact the particular villages and towns to which they belonged were also revealed!
It is therefore indeed interesting that the General Secretary of Congress – a title within Indian National Congress which is at the highest level – was not just supporting to the conspiracy theory of the extremist Islamic fringe of Pakistan, but fully backing it up in an official capacity!
If one looks at the points in the book, one realizes that this was unabashedly a Hate Campaign against the Hindu community and the Opposition Party of that time – Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) as well as its associates – that was attempted by the author and the Congress General Secretary.
By equating Hinduism in totality with RSS and BJP, and attacking Hinduism, and by association implicating BJP, Congress was running a whole religious community down! But Congress escaped the media wrath unscathed – without any explanation or questioning! Such is the levels of media double standards!
What one fails to understand is – When did political hatred for your opponent party become a good excuse to mock a religious symbol of the Hindus? Is Self Righteous Anti-Hindu Bigotry the new normal for Indian Secularism?
