Couple weeks back, 26 CRPF soldiers were killed in the Sukma ambush. Detonators were exploded by Maoists with the help of villagers, which resulted in the death of 26 jawans and injuring many others.
After the government ordered anti Maoists operations, the CRPF has conducted many operation arresting 18 Maoists who were responsible for the Sukma Ambush. 18 Naxalites were detained from Karigundam village by a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force and the District Reserve Group of police, a senior police official said.
Recently many Maoist leaders also surrendered to the police and reveled their links with many Human rights activists. Many naxals have also been killed in the operation and villagers have been questioned for helping them during Sukma ambush.
The COBRA team was also deployed to conduct many anti naxal operation in various parts of Chhatisgarh and the teams are working on destroying naxals hideout outs. Many ammunition, bombs and guns were also recoved by the team yesterday which were hidden in the area.
