Big boost to NDA! Strengthening National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government at the Centre the BJP has today entered into an alliance with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) just after the day it entered an alliance with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra for the upcoming LokSabha Elections 2019-02-19 which has 48 parliamentary seats, second highest after Uttar Pradesh. The BJP will contest on 25 seats, while Shiv Sena will fight on 23.
The alliance with AIADMK in Tamil Nadu will give NDA a much needed push in the region. Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) will also support BJP- AIADMK Alliance. PMK has a significant clout in several northern and western pockets of Tamil Nadu. This is direct hit on Congress party which tried hard to win the support of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) for an electoral alliance in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu has total 40 (TN-39 and Pondicherry-1 ) Lok Sabha seats. The BJP will contest on 5 seats whereas AIADMK will fight on 25 seats. Seven seats have been allotted to PMK for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019. Further, the PMK would also be given a Rajya Sabha seat.
“AIADMK and BJP have concluded very fruitful discussions and agreed to contest the parliamentary polls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and by-elections to 21 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu in alliance with each other and other alliance partners, one of which was announced today – PMK of A Ramadoss,” announced Union Minister Piyush Goyal along with Tamil Nadu CM E Palaniswami and Deputy CM O Panneerselvam. He also added that the alliance will contest elections under the state leadership of E Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam and at the national level under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which will help NDA win all 40 parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry
Tamil Nadu is one of the largest states, which has 39 Lok Sabha seats, and a win here will have a massive national impact and further strengthen the saffron party’s grip in South India.
