“Don’t leave Vidwath, just kill him”! People will not vote for Congress after knowing who said this

Many of us have probably forgotten the incident which took place at an upscale café in Bangalore some months back. This incident had made a headline in every newspaper and news channel and also was said to be influencing the Karnataka Elections which was to be held.

Its been around four months after Congress MLA NA Haris’s son, Mohammed Nalapad Haris has been jailed in the charge of assaulting the victim, L Vidwat. The charge sheet filed by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police revealed that Nalapad initiated the incident and provoked his aides with the intention of murdering him!

The MLA son who forced this attack on the victim was said to have done it unintentionally but the truth seems to be deeper than how it was presented to us by the media and the MLA himself. Sadly, the power and position used by him for the attack did not save him from being punished.

The clash between the two, which took place on 19th of March at Farzi Cafe in UB City, was triggered when Nalapad’s leg touched Vidwat’s right leg, which was covered with plaster of Paris (PoP). This lead to Nalapad sounding off a volley of abuses and demanded him to kiss his feet and apologise. “I am a son of local MLA NA Haris. You are not even equal to my shoe. You say sorry and kiss my feet,” he is reported to have said.

As per witness at the crime spot, when Vidwat refused to apologize, Nalapad and his aides brutally attacked him with glass bottles, ice buckets and Knuckle rings. Even though Vidwat was grievously injured in the incident, Nalapad and his aides continued to assault him. Nalapad is also accused of stating that he would kill the victim. “If you don’t say ‘sorry’, then I will kill you here only”, he reportedly said according to the chargesheet.

The chargesheet compiled statements from as many as 23 witnesses including complainant Praveen Venkatachalaiah. Right now, seven of the accused including Nalapad are in judicial custody. Whereas, the police officials are still on the lookout for the rest of the two accused including Krishna and Javar.

This incident had been recorded as assault case which caused a steaming controversy in the city of Bangalore. However, this crime by his son did not appear to deter Congress leader NA Haris, who contested and won from Shantinagar constituency in Bengaluru for a third straight time. Nothing went on to happen as per our estimations as such. Well, it was expected from Congress. Crime from any of the family member is not a big deal.

NA Haris had distanced himself from his Son’s case and also lied that he himself would surrender his son to the custody. But failed to do so. Later it was known that Nalapad was hiding in his own home under the shelter of his father.

It’s shocking to watch that, Haris surprisingly won with 60,009 votes beating competition from K Vasudevamurthy (BJP), NR Sridhar Reddy (JD(S) and Renuka Vishwanathan (AAP), who got 41,804 and 13,569 and 2,658 votes respectively, as reported by The News Minute.
