After realizing that it is impossible to defeat PM Modi single handedly, all the opposition leaders came together and named their Modi-hatred club as grand alliance. Among them the most prominent Modi hater –West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee– today went on to organize a rally and named it as “rally of unity” in Kolkata.
But this rally proved to be a major embarrassment to none other than the grand alliance themselves. The agenda of this rally was to call the anti-NDA gang in one stage and fool the world that the Modi wave will be tackled with ease in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
But even before the rally could commence, Mamata Banerjee faced a humiliation as three major non-NDA parties namely Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) decided not to participate in the rally.
Several politicians gave their speeches on the stage and it looked like each and everyone are competing among themselves to abuse PM Modi. From Congress to AAP,from Jignesh Mevani to Hardik Patel, all the politicians on the stage knew that they are here to save themselves from the success run of PM Modi.
And then there happened the most hilarious thing that pushed the Congress party into deep embarrassment. Former JDU leader Sharad Yadav came to the stage to attack on the Modi government. But what he did was, he slammed the Congress party and exposed the corruption it had done in the past decades.
Mr Sharad Yadav said that while the Indians (soldiers) were getting martyred at the borders, there was loot and dacoity going through Bofors. Yes, it was a rally to target PM Modi but in turn ended up exposing the Congress party.

Soon Mamata Banerjee’s close aide Derek O’Brien ran into the stage and prompted Sharad Yadav to change from Bofors to Rafale. This indicates that not only the nation but even the opposition leaders have not forgotten how the Congress risked India.
