There were many causes for Muslim conquest but, the major reason was to spread Islam all over the world. The Muslim leaders dominated Kabul, Punjab and Sindh provinces before invading India. The inter revolts between the kingdoms of India helped Muslims overpower.
Over 400 millions of Hindus got slaughtered during Muslim invasion and the population which was said to be 600 million before the invasion, reduced to 200 million later. People of Hindustan were forcibly converted to Islam and imposed the cultures. If anyone started to oppose these brutality, gets tainted and savaged in the name of ‘Holy War’.
Today, culture of India has embedded with shadow of outlanders and being adopted as a part of Indian culture even after such brutal killing of our ancestors.
From 715AD to 1858, Muslim emperors got praised by historians. Most of the literature described the brutality as a great cause to Indian history. Thousands of temples were burnt down, cities were ruined which held the glory of Hindu culture, thousands of people were killed, slaughtered in the name of Allah, thousands of women deported as sex slaves. And that’s why a region in Afganisthan is still named as Hindu Khush (Hindu slaughter) when they invaded Afghanistan in the year of 1000.
Brief account of Muslim Invasion :
The very first Muslim attack happened in the year 715AD in Sindh province by Arabs led by Mohammad-Bin-Qasim. Once they displaced the King Raja Dahir of Sindh, they held it for nearly 300 years. Next attack was by Turk Sabuktagin, he had established his fort in Kabul and Bathinda in the period of 986AD to 991AD. In 997AD, son of Sabuktagin, Mahmad of Ghazni took the throne and invaded into North India seventeen times between 1009AD – 1026AD.
The next important ruler who made his influence on India was Mahammad Ghori who invaded India during the period of 1175AD – 1197AD. He met the great emperor Prithwi Raj Chauhan in the first battle of Tarain, and defeated.
When Muhammad Ghori had left Qutub-ud-Din-Aibek, a slave from Turkistan in charge of Indian affairs, his general Muhammad Khilji successfully invaded to Bihar in 1193AD and captured Bengal in about 1199AD – 1202AD. During the next period of Ilthumish, son-in-law of Qutub has retrieved every lost regions and finished Qutub-al-minar in Delhi. And, the period of these emperors influenced as Slave Dynasty in Muslim invasion.
When Balban took power after the death of Rajiya Begum and Nasiruddin, he suppressed every Hindu using military power and he named as strong leader of Slave Dynasty.
When Balban died, Sulthanate became weak and Jalaludhin Khilji came into power and the ‘The Khilji Dynasty’ began in 1290AD. The nephew of Jalaudhin, Allaludhin Khilji made a conspiracy and displaced the throne. By the time of 1311AD, he captured entire North India. When his son assumed the throne, it was an utter failure of Khilji Dynasty.
In 1320AD, Tughalaq Dynasty began by Muhammad Bin Thughalaq. During his period, expansion of Delhi Sulthanate reached its farthest limits. Then, came the Saiyyad Dynasty by Khizr Khan ruled from about 1414AD – 1450AD. Due to the inner revolts, this dynasty came to an end by giving birth to Lodhi Dynasty by Behlol Lodhi. When the emperors of Lodhi discontented Afgan chiefs, Babur invaded into Kabul and killed Ibrahim Lodhi, the last ruler of Lodhi Dynasty in the First battle of Panipath in 1526. And this was the beginning of Mughal Dynasty.
When Babur died, Humayun ascended the throne in 1530AD. But, Sher Khan, the king of Bengal defeated Humayun in the battle of Chausa and Kanauj, Humayun was compelled to flee from India. Sher Khan reestablished the Afghan rule in India by 1540AD. But, he didn’t succeed and Humayun returned in 1555AD with the support of Persian Shah and defeated Sher Khan and washed out Afghan Rule.
The real era of Brutality started from Akbar (1556 – 1605) after the death of Humayun. Akbar showed his finesse on the name of goodwill and started a Rajput matrimony and married to Rajput Woman. When he conquered Chittore, he ordered the massacre of about 30,000 captured Rajput Hindus on Feb 24, 1568AD. Jahangir, the son of Akbar displaced the throne and due to his irresponsibility, he could not succeed.
Jahangir died in 1627AD and was succeeded by Shah Jahan who ruled from 1627AD – 1658AD. During his period, Tejo Mahalay, temple of Shiva converted to Taj Mahal for his queen Mumtaz after her death in 1631AD. But, his son Aurangazeb imprisoned him and known as last ruler of Mughal Dynasty. He possesses an empire that extended from Ghazni to Bengal and from Kashmir to Deccan. He converted thousands of Hindus and Sikhs by giving a choice between Islam and Death.
When, Guru Teg Bahudur, 9th Guru of Sikh killed by Aurangazeb, Guru Govind Simha made a great influence on Hindus he was killed in 1708AD. Aurangzeb faced stiff resistance from Shivaji, The Great Ruler of Maratas. As the Mughal empire broke down, there was rise of great Marata Power. Shivaji successfully defeated every Mughal Emperors and when the Britishers defeated the last ruler of Mughal Bahadur Shah 2nd in Rangoon, Mughal Dynasty Ended.
History of India becomes a long, monotonous series of murders, massacres, rapes from the time Muslims arrived in India. Every brutality performed on the basis of ‘Holy war’ on ‘Kaafirs’ for their Sole god ‘Allah‘, that they destroyed civilizations, wiped out entire races.
Evidences for brutal attack of Muslim Emperors :
Paintings by Edwin Lord Weeks described “The mass rapes of Hindu women, destruction of thousands of temples, ancient libraries of Hindu and Buddhist have been well documented the brutality of Mughals.
Dr.Koenraad Elst says in his article that “There was no official estimation of the total death of Hindu people in the period of Mughals. But, as from the evidences of 13th century, over 6 million Hindus got killed by Muslim warriors. Frishtha lists several occasions when Bahamani Sulthan in Central India on the period of 1347 – 1528 killed hundred thousands Hindus as a minimum goal.”
The biggest slaughtering took place during the period of Muhamud Ghaznvi (ca 1000Ce), during the actual conquest of North India by Muhammad Ghori (1192ff) and under Delhi Sulthanate (1206 – 1526).
While describing the negations of Indian history, its concluded that the Muslim conquests down to 16th century, were for the Hindus a pure struggle of death and life.
“The Mohammadean conquest of India is probably be the period of blood and mass rapes. The Islamic historians and scholars have documented the slaughters of Hindus, forced conversions, abduction of Hindu women and children to slave market and the destruction of temples with pride during 800ad – 1700ad. Muslim used sword to convert millions of Hindus. (Ref : Will Durant in his 1935 book, The story of civilisation : our oriental heritage, page 459).”
Francois Gautier in his book “Rewriting Indian History” documented that
“The massacres perpetuated by Muslims in India are unparalleled in history, bigger than the Holocaust of Jews by Nazis, or the massacre of Armenians by Turks, more extensive even than the slaughter of the south Americans native populations by invading Spanish and Portuguese.”
Writer Fernand Braudel concluded that “Systematic terror, Cruelty, intentive tortures were the way of ruling of Mughals, whenever Hindus were an uprising, it was savagely repressed through slaughtering and abductions. “
Irfan Husain in his article ‘Demons from the past’ opinionated that
” Their temples were razed, their idols smashed, their women raped, their men killed or taken slaves. When Muhammad Ghazni entered Somanath, he slaughtered all 50,000 inhabitants. Aibak killed and enslaved hundreds of thousands. The list of horrors is long and painful. These conquerors justified their deeds by claiming it was their religious duty to smite non-believers. Cocking themselves in the banner of Islam, they claimed they were fighting for their faith when, in reality, they were indulging in straightforward slaughter and pillage….”
The book ‘Tarikh-i-Yamini’ documented the bloody campaigns of Muhammad Ghazni.
“The blood of the infidels flowed so copiously that the stream was discoloured, notwithstanding its purity, and people were unable to drink it. Nearly fifty thousand of men were killed and their blood washed the roads.”
Last Drop :
Era of Hinduism began around 1500BC and it has deep, long dreadful history. No one could wash out entire race and the glory of Hinduism. Women practiced Jauhar (Entering into Fire), children taken as sex slaves, men were slaughtered, Cow and bullocks were killed, temples were ruined. Every pages of Mughal History written in the skulls of Hindus and their thrones bathed in the blood of Hindus. Invasion of Muslims on the Holy land of Hinduism made its influence on the bloody pages of history. Every king of Mughal enslaved the women, killed men and it almost continued till 1947. During the majority of Islam, there was no mercy upon others, there was no humanity and they encashed the inter revolt of Hindu Emperors. Invading South India was just the same like North by Nizams and Shahs. At the beginning, Muslims were a like a salt in food plate and then, they ruled entire of it. Division of Bengal, Pakistan reflected the same of it. Another brutality on the name of land caused rapes, killings of Indians, specially Hindus.
“ Any religion must establish the peace in lives of people. If it’s directs its followers to brutal act, then it’s not a religion anymore, it will mark up as inhuman acts. Violence in the name of ‘Holy war’ doesn’t establish the peace, it wipes out entire race, so its culture.”
