In a shocking incident that occurred in Andhra Pradesh, a farmer was tortured to death as he didn’t accept the demands of giving his land for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s helipad. The farmer who lost his life was Koteswara Rao from Guntur.

The family of Koteswara Rao claim that he was tortured to death by the Guntur police after he refused to give land at Kodaveedu in Guntur district to make a temporary helipad for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

The farmer Koteswara Rao had leased 14 acre land and he was asked to destroy his papaya crop so that a temporary helipad could be created for Chandrababu Naidu. Currently the family members if the farmer Koteswara Rao are firm on their claim that he was killed by torturing, even though they are facing immense pressure to back off.

BJP AP president K Lakshminarayana said that the police had poured pesticides into Koteswara Rao’s mouth to cover up the death due to torture as a case of suicide.

Veeranjaneyulu, Koteswara Rao’s son said “My father died after being beaten up by the police and he is not a cowardly man to commit suicide. The police are trying to hush up the matter by trying to portray it as suicide. Even if he had consumed poison, how could a man die instantly? We demand that the government take action against the policemen responsible for my father’s death”.

Slamming this heinous incident, BJP Andhra Pradesh stated “What is the price for refusing to allow chopper landing of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra Pradesh? Death! Yes, a farmer was killed by Naidu government for refusing to allow his field for chopper landing. He was beaten by police which caused his death. Why do you hate farmers so much?”.
