For not converting to Christianity, a Hindu teacher in Ranchi was manhandled, threatened to kill and even dismissed from school

In the month of September, it was exposed how 34 minor kids were trafficked from Jharkhand to Punjab and then they were converted by a Christian missionary organisation to Christianity. When it came to the notice of the authorities, the Jharkhand police arrested the linchpin and his associate.

Superintendent of police (SP) of Chaibasa Kranti Kumar had revealed a shocking information that “The kids were forced to read the Bible and pray throughout the day. The kids were lodged in three halls. Food was cooked by older kids. They were sent to one Agape Public High School and were admitted into the classes in a height-wise fashion”.

Now another incident of conversion has taken place in Jharkhand’s Ranchi where a teacher named Nalini Nayak was terminated from service after she refused to embrace Christianity. She was not just manhandled but even threatened to get her killed if she didn’t accept Christianity.

Later on the teacher lodged a complaint against the Principal and three other staff members of Carmel School for “forcible conversion” and the Ranchi Court has ordered an FIR to be filed against them.

Nalini Nayak’s advocate Avnish Ranjan Mishra said “The complaint was filed on Monday in the court of Judicial Magistrate Kashika M Prasad and in the first hearing on Monday; it directed Namkom Police Station to file an FIR against the accused under various sections for pressuring Nalini Nayak to convert. They were booked for criminal conspiracy with common intention and molestation. Nayak was being mentally tortured by the accused and was even manhandled by them”.

Nalini Nayak who suffered at the hands of these radicals said “On September 27, the principal called me to her chamber and threatened that I could be killed if I refused to convert to Christianity. On October 1, I was terminated from service”. Nalini Nayak added that she joined Carmel School on April 6, 2013 and on 1st April 2016 the school authorities said that her service will be confirmed if she embrace Christianity.

Soon after her service was confirmed, the school principal, Sister Delia and staffers Sister M Renisha, Sister Teresita Mari and Sister Mari Theresa started piling pressure on her to attend Church service and religious functions on the school campus late at night, said a report.

This is indeed a shocking incident because if a teacher who is well aware of rules and regulations is tortured by these conversion mafia, then what would be the condition of innocent tribal people who are attacked by these mafia?
