Former Indian Cricket Captain Gautam Gambhir joins BJP; Says impressed with PM Modi

Former Indian Cricketer Gautam Gambhir today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Ravi Shankar Prasad. After joining BJP, the 37-year-old former cricketer Gambhir said “I have been impressed with PM Modi’s leadership and that is why I decided to join the party”.

Since last few months, there was speculation making rounds in political circle of Delhi that BJP is eager to field cricketer Gautam Gambhir in Delhi and use him as a star campaigner throughout the nation. Just days ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the speculations have come true as he has officially joined BJP.

Praising PM Narendra Modi, Gautam Gambhir said that “I am joining this party after getting influenced by PM Narendra Modi’s vision. I am honoured to get the opportunity to join this platform. I will work to take this country forward and make it a better place to live in”. While Union Minister Arun Jaitley said, “We were called a cadre-based party and now we are cadre mass party”.

Since the last couple of years, he has been actively involved in a social cause and had lent support whenever the nation needed his support. Gambhir’s charitable foundation had stepped in to provide complete financial aid to children of the 25 CRPF personnel who were killed in a Maoist attack in Sukma, Chhattisgarh.

Not just this, Gambhir had even shut the anti-nationals on several occasions and had even slammed the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his anarchy in Delhi.

There are a total of seven MP constituencies in Delhi and the BJP had won all the seven seats in 2014 under the Modi wave. Even this time, the saffron party is likely to repeat its stellar performance. Even if the AAP and Congress join hand, it is difficult to uproot BJP in Delhi.
