In each and every election rally, Rahul Gandhi never misses an opportunity to say that if voted to power, he will pay special attention on women empowerment. But we all know that Rahul Gandhi has never done what he actually says.
This is another such story where a women has been disappointed by Rahul Gandhi. Note that the victim in this case is none other than the official spokesperson of Indian National Congress Priyanka Chaturvedi. On 17th April she stated “Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get prefence in Indian National Congress over those who have given their sweat and blood. Having faced brickbats and abuse across board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate”.
She dishearteningly made this statement after Rahul Gandhi’s Congress party reinstated some leaders who had recently misbehaved with her. A report said ” Some local party leaders had purportedly misbehaved with Priyanka Chaturvedi while she was attending a press conference in Mathura a few days back. Congress had initially thrown them out on Chaturvedi’s complaint but recently took them back after intervention of Jyotiraditya Scindia, who is Congress general secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh west”.
This really a shocking incident because if a powerful and popular female leader within the Congress party like Priyanka Chaturvedi doesn’t get justice, then what about the common women of this country? Is this Rahul Gandhi’s model of women empowerment?
This is not the first time when a women was denied justice. Earlier a woman who worked in Congress party’s social media team was harassed by her senior Chirag Patnaik but when she brought this issue to the notice of Congress IT head Divya Spandana a.k.a Ramya, Mr Patnaik was shielded instead of punishing him. The victim even expressed her disappointment saying that Rahul Gandhi too kept mum.
