Scheduled Castes, Scheduled tribes may get a bigger slice of pie this budget
Today’s Budget session has got a wave of storm in the country. Many reforms and plans announced by the Finance Minister are huge in terms and seem to get a drastic change in the future days. The allocation for the SC and ST’s has been doubled- as per the announcements by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in today’s budget session.
“A whopping amount of 1, 05,000 crore for SC & ST’s!”

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has increased the earmarked allocation for Scheduled Castes (Rs 56,000 crore) and Scheduled Tribes (Rs 39,000 crore) in Budget 2018.
This has become a major step especially by the BJP government now in order to grab the majority of the SC and ST votes. Now the bunch of SC –ST category will know which government is heading towards their welfare and which government just spoke in words and did no good to them.
“PM Jeevan Beema Yojana has benefitted more than 2 crore families. The Jan Dhan Yojana will be extended to all 60 crore bank accounts. Our government has increased allocation for SC-ST earmarked programmes: Rs 56,000 crore for SC’s and Rs 39,000 crore for ST’s. By 2022, every block with more than 50% ST population and at least 20,000 tribal people will have ‘Ekalavya’ school at par with Navodaya Vidyalas,” said the Finance Minister.
Unlike the UPA government that only exercised its mouth in making a good for nothing rule. The joint venture of PM Modi and Arun Jaitley has got a wave of relief for the SC & ST category.
I congratulate our Hon’ble PM @narendramodi and FM @arunjaitley ji on presenting a historic Pro-Farmer, Pro-Women , Pro-Youth , Pro-Health #Budget2018 inclusive of #India360 with emphasis on Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas !

As per census 2011, SC (16.6%) and ST (8.6%) have a share of more than 25% of the country’s population which means the upbringing of this section category of people will automatically bring up the economy level of the country. As per the calculations, an eighth of the total funds under central-sector and centrally sponsored schemes must be used for the welfare of SC/ST communities.
Now it’s left to the people to think twice and decide on who is genuinely working for their welfare and who was working just for votes. Let’s go ahead and make a wise decision now.
