Last month our beloved leader Sushma Swaraj ji left us in shock with her sudden demise. That day is etched as a painful memory in our hearts. But Sushma Swaraj Ji will never be forgotten by us and will remain forever in our memories
She has left such a legacy behind her that she will be remembered forever. Today she might be very happy as her last unfulfilled wish has finally been fulfilled by her daughter
Hours before her demise, the former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had a conversation with Harish Salve asking him to collect his fee of Re. 1 for representing India in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Remembering her last talk with Sushma Swaraj, Harish Salve said “I spoke to her at 8:50 pm. It was a very emotional conversation…. She said ‘You have to come and meet me. I have to give you your one rupee for the case which you have won’. I said ‘of course I have to come to collect that precious fee’. She said to come tomorrow at 6 o’clock.”
But destiny has something else in store. Hours after she got hospitalized and left all of us and her wishes behind. Today her daughter Bansuri Swaraj has fulfilled her last wish. Day before late Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansuri visited the senior Advocate and handed him a coin of Re. 1, the nominal fee that Salve charged for representing India.
The senior lawyer reportedly charges Rs. 30 lakh for a day otherwise. Swaraj Kaushal, former Mizoram Governor and the husband of the late Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted, “Your daughter Bansuri has fulfilled your last wish today. She has presented Rs. 1 fee to Harish Salve in Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case, which you had left.”
This gesture indeed reflects upon how former Foreign Minister, Sushma Swaraj, remained concerned and dedicated towards protecting and furthering India’s interests till her last breath. She remained invested in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case till her last moments.
She has always cared for the interest of the nation. Till her last moment, she has dedicated herself to the nation. Even her last tweet she had thanked PM Modi for implementing the revolutionary move of abrogation of Article 370. She had tweeted, “Thank you Prime Minister. Thank you very much. I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime,” hours before her demise.
This shows her commitment to the nation. Even during her tenure as an External Affairs Minister, she has given a new meaning to the way of work and how things can be handled. She, in fact, has always been loved by the nation for her quick response to everyone in the hour of need
Today she is not with us but she will always remain with us in our memories. Her legacy is immortal.
