While the self-proclaimed intellectuals may be calling Narendra Modi a failure on Kashmir issue, and have tried to showcase that BJP and PDP are the strangest of alliance partners, the truth is far from it. PDP chief and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has said that if there is anyone in the country who can solve the Kashmir issue, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking to a rally after inaugurating a flyover, she also reaffirmed her immense faith in PM Modi and said that she will support whatever decision PM Modi takes to deal with the Kashmir issue.
“Humein daldal se koi agar bahar nikal sakta hai toh, woh PM Modi hain. Woh jo faisla karenge mulk support karega (If there is anyone who can pull us out of this situation, it is PM Modi. Whatever decision he takes, the nation will support),” Mehbooba Mufti said. She urged PM Modi to quickly act on the issue before the situation in the valley worsens. She also praised PM Modi’s decision to visit Lahore in 2015 to diffuse the tensions, which couldn’t become fruitful. “Pehle wale PM bhi Pak jana chahte, par zurrat nahi ki. PM Modi Lahore gaye yeh taqat ki nishani hai (Our former PM also wanted to visit Pakistan, but he never dared to do so. PM Modi went to Lahore – this is his strength).
During her speech, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also credited former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for initiating peace in Jammu and Kashmir in 2002. “They tried their best to bring out Kashmir out of this unfortunate situation. He was successful to a large extent in shortest of period. There was ceasefire along Indo-Pak border during Vajpayee ji’s government. There was beginning of the process of opening the roads across LoC during PM Vajpayee’s regime,”Mehbooba Mufti said in her speech.
