India salutes Nepali soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation

While people sit and debate in high-profile studios, there are soldiers defending the nation. The supreme sacrifices of these great soldiers can never be undermined. Greatness is a quality that defines the soldier. Indian soldiers have often succeeded in killing terrorists, but there are times when we lose some of our great soldiers. The pain is inexplicable.

On Thursday the entire nation mourned the sacrifice of a 23 year old soldier, who was martyred when he was fighting the Pakistani forces along the LoC in Nowgham sector of Kupwara district. The Infiltration bid was boiled by the Indian army as three terrorists were gunned down in an encounter.

In this encounter, the Indian Army unfortunately lost one of its brave soldiers. Tara Bahadur Raka was the fourth Nepali Soldier to be martyred since May 22nd. Born on 1 January 1994, the braveheart from Dang , Nepal served in the Indian army for two years.

Defence spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia spoke about the braveheart

“He was a very motivated soldier and had impressed us all with his vigor, courage and devotion to duty. Rifleman Tara Bahadur Roka attained martyrdom on June 8 during a counter-infiltration operation in which three armed intruders were eliminated.”

The Indian Army paid its tributes to the martyr. Roka is survived by his parents.
