Indian Army did start a massive counter Terrorism operation (Operation all Out) few months back. Initially People were very skeptic about its success, people also raised their doubts when Army declared that it will wipe out all the Terrorists before this winter.
However the results have been extremely encouraging and the way Army and other supporting Defence forces have orchestrating this operation has sent a strong message across the border. We have seen brutal killing of many Top commanders in recent months, and now it is been said that the entire Leadership hierarchy of Terror group have either dispatched to hell or hiding in upper reaches or jungles and counting their days.
Jammu and Kashmir police has confirmed this fact and said that a majority of Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba militants have gone into hiding in the upper reaches of South Kashmir and are “banking on the Jaish-e-Muhammad cadre.”
Kashmir range IG of police Muneer Ahmad Khan said that they have credible information that Terrorists belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba have “gone underground” in the upper reaches of Tral area in Pulwama district following brutal killing of their top commanders in the recent months.
He further added that J&K Police investigated this issue further and they found that Jaish cadre has taken a frontal role in carrying out strikes on the government forces and civilians.
IG Muneer Khan also said that these Terrorists have damaged their old SIM cards, and without Mobile phones it is not possible for them to survive; they always need to stay in touch with each other and their Masters. They are completely isolated at the moment and the lack of any further commands from their Masters, they have become extremely vulnerable and can easily fall prey to Indian Defence forces at any point of time.
Since Terrorists have changed their strategy by going into hiding and being isolated, the police has also chalked out a “fresh strategy” to track them down.
It is also observed that their Masters across the LoC have revamped a policy to assign the job of carrying out ‘fidayeen’ attacks to Jaish-e-Mohammed militants in a bid to protect the left-over militants of Hizbul and Lashkar.
This could be the reason why forces are not able to track the exact locations of militants despite conducting cordon-and-search operations in nearly a dozen villages in recent times.
The startling fact is, since August 12 this year, when the government forces killed top Hizb commander Muhammad Yasin alias MehmoodGaznavi and his two associates in a gunfight in Awneera, Shopian, there has been no gunfight anywhere in Kashmir.
Besides the killing of six top commanders Sabzar Bhat, JunaidMatoo, AyoubLelhari, Bashir Lashkari, Abu Dujana, MehmoodGaznavi, at least 132 militants were killed in various gunfights this year in Kashmir
Top army and police officers have been maintaining that killing top leaders of militants was a part of strategy framed in May this year “to bring peace in Kashmir. “ The operation was named as “Operation All-Out.” and this strategy is paying heavy dividends and now the entire Leadership of Terrorists has been wiped out and there is a growing fear of death among death.
