The person who propagated secular values throughout his life, will give a speech in RSS headquarters?
This is the hot topic which is being discussed in the veranda of the Congress party. The move taken by Pranab Mukherjee has proved to be a nightmare to the Congress president Rahul Gandhi. Why did Pranab Dada agree to attend the RSS headquarters in Nagpur? What is his hidden motive behind this move? More than the BJP party men, the move taken by Mr Mukherjee is haunting the Congress.
But the BJP, RSS and the right wingers are claiming that the former President is visiting RSS office just to give a lecture on patriotism and nationalism. “Mukherjee will not join the RSS, why is the Congress so desperate after the decision taken by him”, this is how the BJP is mocking the Congress.
The retired Army General of Nepal had visited the “Sangh Shiksha Varg” last year, and this time on June 7th it will be attended by India’s former President. So why to make a big fuzz about, asks the RSS insiders.
The political calculations have already begun and is on its peak after the announcement made by Mr Mukherjee to attend the RSS headquarters. In what is called as a counter to the BJP and Congress, the third front has the greed to rule India after 2019 but lacks a personality who could be accepted by the entire nation.
At present the third front consists of Chandrababu Naidu, Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik, KC Chandra Shekar Rao, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Sharad Pawar, but they all lack a clean image. And the weak link is, all these leaders have influence only on their states and not on the nation, on the whole.
What is even conflicting within the third front is, they lack a leader who would be accepted by all its leaders. So to face the gigantic Modi wave in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the third front or what is called as the “Federal Front” is thinking, why can’t Pranab Mukherjee be its Prime Ministerial face?
Pranab Mukherjee was a very heavy weight in the Congress party even at Indira Gandhi’s tenure. In a Congress party’s conference which was held after the death of Indira Gandhi, a question was asked that who is the senior most leader in Congress now. And for this question, Pranab Mukherjee had raised his hand.
But later on, he was sidelined by Rajeev Gandhi, who took over the party’s control. Even in 2004, after the victory of Congress party in the Lok Sabha elections, the dream of becoming India’s Prime minister bloomed in the minds of Pranab Mukherjee.
But to everyone’s surprise, Manmohan Singh was opted as the Prime Minister and Pranab Mukherjee had to get satisfied just as a cabinet minister. The PM post once again bloomed in the mind of Pranab Mukherjee in 2012 when it was said that Manmohan Singh would be made as the President of India and the PM post would be given to Pranab Mukherjee.
But Sonia Gandhi fantastically executed her skills and once again didn’t allow the PM post to come closer to Pranab Mukherjee.
Attempts to make Pranab Mukherjee the PM of India in 2019!
Yes, this is the talk of many of the political pundits in Delhi. Now don’t ask why this talk has come of all a sudden. No, this plan is making rounds since last January. On the invitation of Orissa CM NavePatnaik, President Pranab Mukherjee had gone to Bhuvaneshwar and interacted with HD Devegowda, Sitharam Yedhury and discussed on the third front or the federal front. This is said by none other than Pranab’s internal arena.
The meet was just called as an infromal dinner meet and gained no importance. But now, the several-month-old dinner meet is making rounds in the national politics.
At present, PM Modi is the only leader whom the nation will accept. The second in the line is Rahul Gandhi but none have taken him seriously. Even the regional parties have openly rebelled against his leadership. So now the only person who can give a tough fight to Prime Minister Modi is none other than Pranab Mukherjee.
When Pranab Mukherjee’s name was proposed for the President post, the first one to back him was West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. Other than BJP, almost each and every party had backed his candidature. The only reason for this was his non-controversial personality.
The idea of the “Federal Front” was the brain child of Pranab Mukherjee, say certain sources. Since decades, In West Bengal Mamata Banerjee was like an obedient pupil of Pranab Mukherjee. It is also said that he himself had asked Mamata Banerjee to meet Telangana CM KCR Rao.
To form a third front, all the parties that have maintain a steady gap from the BJP and the Congress must be clubbed together. And if Pranab Mukherjee becomes the PM candidate, its a cake’s walk to join all the regional parties together ahead of the 2019 elections.
But another question that haunts us is whether Pranab Mukherjee will accept this offer? The Indian political history is the evidence that no President has ever moved back to active politics once he completed his tenure as a President.
And as governors, only SM Krishna and Sushil Kumar Shinde have had returned back to active politics. There are immense criticisms hurled against these two for their moves. So will Pranab Mukherjee accept the offer and replace him with another candidate and act as a mentor?
Another angle for Pranab Mukherjee’s move: RSS, BJP and political angle!
Yes, there is another angle given to the move of attending RSS headquarters. Many wouldn’t have known about the morning walks of Pranab Mukherjee and former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Not just this, but Mr Mukherjee has a very good understanding with PM Modi. Many a time, PM Modi had sent his cabinet ministers to Pranab Mukherjee to get certain guidelines.
The RSS “Shakas” in West Bengal is increasing in a rapid phase and even the Congress and the left wing is losing its ground in the state. And the BJP is planning to occupy that place using Pranab Mukherjee. Yes, the RSS might use the speech made by Pranab Mukherjee in Nagpur and use it to strengthen the BJP in West Bengal.
However, one cannot predict whether the move taken by Pranab Mukherjee will help BJP and RSS or not. But it has created a huge embarrassment to the Congress party. Since we got independence, the Congress has been opposing the RSS. Nehru was also a hardcore hater of the RSS.
But now a very influential leader of Congress will enter the RSS fort and the Congress leaders are worried what if Pranab Mukherjee makes positive talk there. At present, the Congress cannot even order him not to attend the RSS headquarters.
That’s why one needs to wait and watch until June 7th.
