On 25 June 2016, when the CRPF jawans were returning from Lethpura (J&K) after a shooting practice when 4 terrorists suddenly attacked the bus carrying these CRPF jawans. It was one of the deadliest attacks on CRPF, which led to the loss of 8 lives and left 22 jawans injured. It was the sheer bravery of these jawans  that despite the militants being in an advantageous position, the CRPF jawans managed to gun them down. Let us meet one of those heroes who fought these terrorists valiantly and ended up getting hit by 8 bullets, 4 of them on his back.

Meet 43 year old CRPF head constable Khursheed Ahmed from Kupwara (Jammu and Kashmir). He has been serving the nation by working with the CRPF since last 23 years. He continued to fight the terrorists for 1 hour despite being hit by 8 bullets and ensured that all the four terrorists were eliminated. After being hit by 8 bullets on 25 June while fighting the terrorists, he was admitted to the AIIMS Trauma centre on 28 June. Doctors performed surgeries on him, and removed seven of the eight bullets. Unfortunately, one bullet is still lodged inside his body and doctors say it is immensely difficult to remove it till the other injuries heal. Today, he is bed-ridden in the AIIMS. These terrible injuries have desperately weakened him physically, but his mental resolve, grit and determination is still the same. Although the doctors are afraid that he might be paralysed below the waist, Khursheed Ahmed is still hopeful to return to the border and fight the the terrorists till his last breath.

Lying on the bed , barely able to move his lower part of the body he says, “I may be injured right now, but I still want to go back and fight for my nation. Those militants tried to kill me but somehow I survived. God has saved me for a purpose and I will make sure that I dedicate the rest of my life for the people of my country.” When he was asked about the situation in Kashmir, he categorically opposed the separatist movements and called the movements being fuelled by people with vested interest. He said, “It is these vested forces who have hijacked sanity and peace of our Valley.” He also called that those who throw stones by making a shield of women and children as cowards, and went on to recall how he fought the terrorists during the peak of militancy in the early 1990s. Khursheed Ahmed’s brother Rasheed Ahmed is also serving with Indian Army’s Jat regiment and is constantly encouraging his brother in this tough time.

While our mainstream media and regressive left-liberals glorify the terrorists, embolden the separatists and fuel the separatist movement in the name of promoting democracy, there are nationalists living in the valley whose every member is serving the nation by working with CRPF, BSF, Indian Army and other organisations. There are many like Khursheed Ahmed who are dedicated to serve the nation till their last breath. Despite media projecting hate against Indian establishment, more than 500 Kashmiri youths have joined Indian Army this year. It is the love, passion and zeal for the nation which keeps them going. Read the reports here :
1. 300 Kashmiri Youths join Indian Army (August 2016)

2. 242 recruits from Kashmir join Indian Army (March 2016)

Let us salute Kashmiris like Khursheed Ahmed, Rasheed Ahmed and thousands of youths who love India. It is they who deserve to be made heroes ! These nationalist, educated Kashmiri youths joining the Army and paramilitary are the answers to the separatists, terrorists and Pakistan-backed people with vested interests who provoke stone-pelters.

Jai Hind !
Bharat Mata ki Jai !
