A lesson to BCCI, Afghanistan Cricket Board cancels Cricket ties with Pakistan after Kabul blast!

Afghanistan Cricket Board, by cancelling all the Cricket ties with the terror factory Pakistan, has not only shamed Pakistan, but also BCCI! The Intelligence Agency of Afghanistan has traced the involvement of Taliban allied Haqqani Network in the recent suicide bomb attack in Kabul which killed 90 people and wounded 400. Afghanistan’s unflinching and instant decision to boycott cricket with Pakistan shows that their love for the country is bigger than Cricket and the huge money involved with it. It also exposes BCCI’s dead conscience for the country and its hunger for money.

Yes, Cricket is the religion of India. This craze of Cricket among Indians is capitulated by BCCI, sponsorship Media and even ICC. A match between India and Pakistan is hyped as a Mega event on all possible platforms of SM and MSM. The Mainstream Media of the two enemy countries suddenly lose all the hostility towards each other and form a collaboration to grab as much TRP as possible. Huge piles of Sponsors money is at stake at the matches between India and Pakistan. Has BCCI lost all the sense of self-esteem of our country? BCCI, the richest Cricket Board in the world, is pushing our cricketers to hug and handshake with the Pakistani team for the lust of money. It is worse than prostitution!

Just imagine how gratified the Afghan countrymen must be towards Afghan Cricket Board! The strongly worded statement of ACB against Pakistan shows their ‘Nation First’ attitude. In their statement on Facebook page, ACB said, “The ACB hereby cancel all kinds of cricket matches and initial mutual relationship agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board .No agreement of friendly matches and mutual relationship agreement is possible with a country where terrorists are housed and provided safe havens.”

Our Cricketers who represent India on the International grounds are also cowardly mum over the issue. Aren’t they the citizens of India?  Is earning crores of rupees at the cost of hurting the sentiments of Indians more important for them? Virat Kohli is known for his nationalistic attitude on Social Media. But even he seems enthusiastic about playing with Pakistan. During a Press Conference before leaving for England for the tournament, Kohli dodged the question of a journalist in this context. Kohli shouldn’t forget that his financial prosperity through Cricket is due to us Indians. We hero worship these cricketers. They capitulate on this fame by earning in crores by giving commercials.

For one terror attack, Afghanistan Cricket Board has dared to denounce cricket ties with the country which has always supported their team. For the kind attention of BCCI, Cricketers and all those who support the sports between two enemy countries, Pakistan has violated ceasefire for 449 times last year and 36 times till March this year. Till date, India has neutralized 23,183 terrorists of Pakistan. Till date, our 6,299 soldiers have martyred in the Pakistan sponsored terror attacks. Pakistan sponsors crores of hawala money to manufacture unrest in Kashmir. There is a war-like situation between India and Pakistan. How disgusting it is that BCCI is remorselessly sleeping with the enemy for a few bucks!

Why is BCCI money-hungry in spite of being the richest Cricket Board? BCCI can comfortably afford the penalty that ICC might levy on it for refusing to play with Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. BCCI is the last board in the world that should play like a miser. Let me tell you that BCCI owns all the revenues of global media rights which is amounted to Rs 3851 Cr in last 6 years. Even the huge revenue source of IPL Matches is owned by BCCI. For each match played, BCCI earns Rs 43 Cr from the match broadcaster companies. And it spends only 26% of its total earnings on our cricketers. Cricketers are not at all entitled to any media rights.

Today, BCCI and the whole cricket team needs to take lessons of patriotism from Gautam Gambhir! Last month, he took the responsibility of bearing the education expenses of all the 25 martyred CRPF Jawans in Sukma , Chattisgarh. He even donated all his IPL earnings for the Sukma Martyrs. Has the patriotism of all other cricketers gone for a toss?

We are going through the most disturbing times. Social Media is abuzz with the messages for our soldiers like never before! Our blood boils when the families of our soldiers perform the last rites on the headless bodies of our martyred soldiers. In that mood, we set the photos of our soldiers as a Display Picture on our Social Media accounts. But who wins when there is a confrontation between our love for Soldiers and our craze for Cricket? It’s time to know the truth. Is our patriotic love for soldiers going for a toss for the boundaries and sixes of our cricketers? No!!!

We Indians can collectively boycott the match to stand in solidarity of our martyred soldiers. But can we ever forgive BCCI for their ruthless decision to ignore the sentiments of 125 Cr Indians? Can we still hero-worship those brilliant cricketers who chose to remain tight-lipped when the country needed them to speak up??
