The countdown for 2019 Lok Sabha elections has started. All the parties have pulled up their sleeves for the battle and are charting out their strategy to win the elections.
Amidst of all these preparation a stunning strategy of ‘MahagathBandhan’ has been noticed in one of the largest state Uttar Pradesh
It has come to forefront that the major regional parties in state of Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) and RLD will fight together but will not enter into an alliance with Congress according to reports.
The victory of Congress in the recent assembly elections in three states has not provided any upper hand to party for getting an alliance with other parties. The regional parties very well know Congress would have bargained to fight on more seats as compared to regional powers so they have sidelined Congress
Mayawati led BSP and Akhilesh Yadav led SP have already decided their seat sharing formula with BSP fighting on 38 seats, SP fighting on 37 seats and RLD fighting on 3 seats of Kairana, Baghpat & Mathura
But here is the twist. It is not that the regional parties have completely turned an option for an alliance in Congress. There is possibility that the parties can form post poll alliance with Congress. Moreover the parties have decided not to field any of their candidates from Congress bastions Amethi and Rai Bareli. The Congress on the other hand will field its candidates from 80 seats
Not forming pre poll alliance with the Congress is basically the strategy of parties to divide people on the basis of caste and cut votes of the BJP.
The parties have different core voters For the BSP, the core vote bank is the Dalit faction. For SP the core vote banks are the Yadavs and Muslims. The parties very well know that an alliance with Congress will dent its votes so the regional parties have decided to be away and infact focus on strengthening their core votes.Whereas Congress on the other side will try to trigger hate among Hindus by dividing them on the basis of caste and will fight on all 80 seats to cut vote of BJP
Now it is all on the people of Uttar Pradesh. People have to decide whether they want to get trapped in the strategy of opposition or defeat the opposition by making all their fake promises and strategies fail. And making them know that the voter of India has now risen above all these caste issues and believe in the development of country
