Did Mahatma Gandhi accuse Chhatrapati Shivaji as a misguided patriot?

Shivba, Shivaji Raje, Chatrapati Shivrai as we Maharashtrians know him, is a part of our lives! Raje is in our blood! Our souls have been infused with the glorious stories of lionhearted Shivba right from our early years. So much so that, even the decades of Secularist Congress Rule in the State and at Centre hasn’t been able to wash away the pride and a sense of worship we have for Shivaji Maharaj!

Over the decades, there have been systematic and vigorous attempts by the Leftist Historians and Liberals to wash the stinking taints of barbaric Mughal Invasions. On parallel lines, they are curtailing the heroic stories of courageous Indian Warriors in the history. The contemporary sickulars are sweating it out by naming their children after heinous Mughal invaders like Taimur, writing books with twisted facts and making films glorifying the perverts like Akbar, Khilji , Shah Jahan and so on!

But know what, the harm is already done! The hearts of Indians beat for Shivaji Maharaj, Rani Lakshmibai, Rana Pratap, Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh, Swami Vivekanand, Netaji Subhashchandra Bose and Veer Savarkar! Try as much as you can, you can’t dress up the ugly Mughal Invaders enough to make them our heroes!

Father of Secularism, M K Gandhi condemned Shivaji Maharaj as a ‘Misguided Patriot’.  Quite understandable! After all, the Originator of ‘Minority Appeasement’ that he was, how could one expect Gandhi to approve of Shivaji who destructed the long-standing Mughal Rule with great impact? More disapproving fact was that Shivaji Raje established a “Hindu Swarajya’!  Gandhi’s lame allegation on Shivaji was that he adapted Violence! Gandhi peddled ‘Non-violence ‘as a Hindu philosophy quoting half of the Sanskrit verse “Ahimsa Paramo Dharma:” which means ‘Non Violence is the ultimate Dharma and concealing the second line of the verse,” Dharm Himsa Tathaiva cha” which means “So too is Violence in service of Dharma’! Hence the true followers of Hindu teachings like Shivaji Raje were naturally in bad books of Gandhi.

Well, history is the witness as to the calamities brought upon India in the name of Gandhi’s Truth and Non-violence! Acting like a British puppet, Gandhi helped British by recruiting Indians in their Army in 1916 to fight for British. More than 5 Lakh Indians were martyred for enhancing British glory across seven seas. The British even awarded the title of “Kaiser-e-Hind’ to our ‘Non-violence Peddler for his great service towards them! Who can overcome the pains of Partition saga that killed more than 2 Million Indians? Who can forget the attacks on lakhs of Hindus in Mopla Riots (1921) and Naokhali Riots (1946) that got silent approval by this Minority Appeaser? And he had the impertinence to call Shivaji Raje ‘a misguided patriot’!

Chatrapati Shivaji Bhosale was born on 19th February, 1630. This was the time when the Mughal invasions that started around 12th Century, had resulted in the firm-rooted Empire across India .Imagine the bravery of an adolescent child inspired by mother Jaijabai’s stories of glorious Hindu History, vowed to bring back the lost glory of ‘Hindavi Swarajya’ with the help of a few playmates! That too, when his father himself was working under Mughals! The historic journey thus started saw the creation of Shivaji Raje’s Kingdom, a Hindu Rajya!

The extraordinary journey of Shivba’s fights with Mughals is highly inspiring. He captured geographically important forts and planned them strategically. Even today, the visits to the hundreds of forts developed by Shivaji Raje make us awestruck! And today’s Indian Navy owes a lot to their Originator, Shavaji Maharaj! Shivaji Raje’s foresightedness of future invasions via sea made him invest in the ships fitted with guns and setting up Light houses as far as Andaman Islands. The strength of Shivaji’s navy prohibited Dutch, English and Portuguese ships from entering Indian terrain during his period.

The ‘Shivsmarak’ (Statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj) in the Arabian Sea on the coasts of Mumbai is scheduled to be completed by 2019.  It will be the World’s Biggest Statue surpassing the height of the Statue of Liberty of the USA! The foundation stone of Shivsmarak project was laid by PM Modi on 24th December, 2016. The working of this massive project is completely transparent thanks to PM Modi’s digital India. The best hands in the world are hired for this project. TheShivsmarak is supposed to use solar energy to  radiate light during the night throughout the city and over a huge sea terrain. This makes me recall the famous quote of Netaji Subhashchandra Bose, “SHIVAJI should be our ideal, the motto, the guiding light, and the pilot to lead us to glory!” Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was the guiding and guarding light during his lifetime protecting India from the invaders via sea. Now, he will continue to perform his role through his statue!
