Mahatma Gandhi’s Murder!!! Is it Independent India’s biggest cover-up?

Mahatma Gandhi is undoubtedly one of the biggest figure in India, who is accepted and endorsed by almost everyone. Even his strong critiques appreciate him for his sacrifices for our Nation. However Gandhi’s murder has been an unsolved mystery till now, there are many conspiracy theories behind his murder, but things are not that easy as they appear.

It seems this is the right time to reveal the truth behind the Gandhi’s murder, undoubtedly the biggest cover-up of independent India. The Supreme Court has started its proceeding and asked some searching questions on a plea seeking the reopening of the probe into Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination and appointed senior advocate Amrender Sharan as amicus curiae to assist it in the matter.

A bench comprising Justices SA Bobde and L Nageswara Rao was initially thought that “nothing can be done in law” in this specific case, but later told Sharan, a former additional solicitor general, that its observation was not binding on him to make an assessment of the matter.

This matter will be further heard on October 30, it raised some genuine questions including how evidence could be collected now to order further investigation into the case which had led to the conviction and execution of Nathuram Vinayak Godse and Narayan Apte on November 15, 1949, as it was proved that these two conspired to kill Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was shot dead at point-blank range in New Delhi on January 30, 1948, by Nathuram Godse, a right-wing advocate.

This petition has been filed by Mumbai-based Dr Pankaj Phadnis, who is a researcher and a trustee of Abhinav Bharat. He has sought to reopen the probe on several grounds, claiming it was one of the biggest cover-ups in the history. He has questioned the ‘three bullet theory’ relied upon by various courts of law to hold the conviction of accused Godse and Apte, who were hanged, and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar who was given the benefit of doubt due to lack of evidence.

He further added that there could be a third assassin other than the two convicted persons and submitted that there was a need to investigate whether the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), an intelligence agency of the US during World War II and a predecessor of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), had tried to protect Gandhi as they might have some intelligence inputs on this issue.

He further argued that appeals filed by the convicts Godse and Apte were dismissed in 1949 by the East Punjab High Court, following which the Privy Council had sent the matter back on the ground that the Supreme Court of India will come into existence in January 1950.

It is also revealed that The Supreme Court never adjudicated this matter, the Kapoor commission report has not come to the apex court. The observations of Kapoor Commission may or may not be accurate but the fact is that execution was carried out by the judgment of a session court which was confirmed by the high court.

We sincerely hope the truth of Gandhi’s murder should be unrevealed. This incident has changed the course of our Nation and it is our right to know about the truth behind such a big incident. Though nothing can be dismissed at this crucial juncture, but just think about the involvement of a third person in this act, this could be a conspiracy against a specific group of people. This could be a conspiracy to garner sympathy of every Citizen of India.
