Upsetting the OBC section was definitely not what Congress wanted. The grand old party which is struggling to survive in Gujarat has got a major blow after their senior leader and a close aide of Gandhi family, Mani Shankar Aiyar’s remark on PM Modi.
With just 2 days before elections, the Congress has lost face to even seek vote in the name of backward class. The party which is well known to divide people on caste and religion was eyeing to garner OBC votes with their rhetoric of promising livelihood to the backward classes and dalits. Just in a time when Congress was said to have gained momentum in few areas, their leader made a great blunder which may cost Congress huge.
While the Congress tried its best to play Hindu card few days back calling Rahul Gandhi a Janeu Dhari Hindu, Mani Shankar Aiyar has himself exposed the fake claims of Congress not once but twice. BJP should indeed thank Mani Shankar Aiyar for comparing Rahul Gandhi’s coronation to Mughal rulers Jehangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb coronation which was nothing but an endorsement of the Dynasty raj which is being rejected time and again by the people of India.
If at all Rahul Gandhi had realized what damage Aiyar’s comment made, he would have come out in open and rejected Aiyar’s comment. But all he had to do was hide himself and remain silent. And now a even bigger damage has been made by Aiyar calling PM Modi “Neech” which has upset the Congress prospects completely. And even today, Rahul Gandhi has not taken stringent action against Mani Aiyar apart from suspending him from primary membership of Congress.
The BJP with Modi-Shah duo has been leading an unbeatable campaign and Congress along with Rahul Gandhi has done nothing but helped BJP all the way through. With Rahul Gandhi’s frequent gaffes, Mani Shankar Aiyar’s irresponsible talks, the BJP has got every right opportunity to expose Congress of their dubious intentions.
Mujhko lagta hai ki ye aadmi bahut neech kisam ka aadmi hai, isme koi sabhyata nahi hai, or aise mauke par is kisam ki gandi rajniti karne ki kya avashyakta hai?: Mani Shankar Aiyar, Congress on PM Modi pic.twitter.com/VrLM6TOlNr

They can call me 'Neech'- Yes, I am from the poor section of society and will spend every moment of my life to work for the poor, Dalits, Tribals and OBC communities. They can keep their language, we will do our work: PM Modi in Surat #GujaratElection2017 pic.twitter.com/XBZd6OqgSu

When Congress was using people like Hardhik Patel, Jignesh Mewani and Alpesh Thakore to divide Hindu votes, Mani Shankar Aiyar’s comment has put Congress in a fix. While in 2014, Mani Shakar Aiyar’s comment calling Modi a ‘Chaiwala’ gave a tremendous opportunity for BJP to start Chai Pe Charcha campaign which became huge success, in 2017, his another irresponsible comment has put back BJP in driver’s seat.
It is not the first time PM Modi was called Neech, it was Priyanka Gandhi who called PM Modi Neech in 2014, by now Congress should have realized what impact it made. But seems like Congress is happy expressing their frustration using abusive words which has simplified things for BJP.
Two days before elections in Gujarat, things look very favourable for BJP and especially after a series of blunders committed by Congress.
