The worries for Congress seem to be increasing day by day. The infighting in the party is becoming severe and is spreading to all parts of the country. Already reeling with infighting in states like Haryana, Odisha, Uttarakhand and Arunachal Pradesh, Congress has now suffered from another blow. The infighting has become extremely serious in Jharkhand which led to the two Congress camps becoming violent yesterday, after which Jharkhand Police had to step in.
The Jharkhand state Congress unit has been divided into two camps, one led by Jharkhand state Congress chief Sukhdeo Bhagat and the rebel group led by Manoj Yadav and Irfan Ansari. Since last couple of days, the factionalism has been evident with members of both the groups getting violent and fighting against each other. Police seized sticks and rods which were carried by members of both the factions after the clash got violent in a meeting called by Congress High Command, which was being chaired by B K Hariprasad.
The rebels are protesting against the newly constituted Congress committee of Jharkhand. According to rebels, there is no democracy left in the party and corrupt people close to contractors, criminals and having clout in the “high level of congress” are being promoted and others are being ignored. The morale of the workers of the congress party has touched the lowest ever, and the infighting in various states are eating up the party from within. Although Jharkhand has an already stable BJP government, an infighting in Congress makes things easier for the BJP towards realising Modiji’s dream of “Congress Mukt Bhaarat.” It seems that the debacle for Congress will only become worse with every passing day.
