Modi Chariot: The Choice is between a Strong India and Family Hegemony

The largest festival on Earth- India’s General Election- is scheduled in April May. “Feel good factors” will no more be allowed to have the complacency effects, which were harvested by the first UPA. And this is the first time that the Nation is in the mood of Nationalism as in case of Bankimbabu’s “Vande Maa Taram”. Unprecedented enthusiasm shown by 30 Million NRIs support this mood abroad. Under such a backdrop, let us evaluate the performance of Modi led NDA vis-à-vis the dismantled regional opposition parties including the last two terms of Manmohan led UPA.

The primary project on which UPA returned to power with coalitional politics was MGNREGA, which spent more than 3.50 Lakh Crore rupees through the largest rural development project in human history over 10 years since 2005. But our study has proved that more than 25% of the funds have been looted at various layers in the route to reach the villages.

Second, India had to suffer numerous terrorist attacks in the core including Parliament and Mumbai without any resistance or aggressive punishment beyond the border.

Third, Independent India has never seen so much financial scam by the coalition leaders thereby siphoning off Lakhs of Crores of rupees. Nationalism reached the nadir during this period. The anti-Indian elements ruled supreme. Nationalism was treated as a vice. We want to assert that every successful country is nationalistic: be it Japan, USA, Russia or France, and UK except China where Party chief (and Military) decides what is meant by Nationalism and Terrorism. In sharp contrast, during only the last 5 years, Modi led NDA has spent an approximate amount of about Rs. 7 Lakh Crores on numerous projects. But given India’s corrupted system of disbursement to reach the target, it is highly likely that a part of this fund might have been siphoned off.

Further studies should be done to unearth the corruption network. Some landmark schemes are Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mudra Mission, Skill Development Scheme, Digital India, Smart Cities Mission, Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan), Nationwide Registration of Organ Donors, LED-Lighting Programme, Auction of Mines, 33% Quota for Women in Police, Declassification of Netaji Files, International Diplomacy, Lucky Grahak Yojana Mega Award Scheme To Promote Digital Payments, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana, Green Urban Transport Scheme, ZED (Zero Defect, Zero Effect) Scheme, National SC/ST Hub, Passenger Travel Insurance Scheme, Smart Ganga City Project Under Namami Gange Initiative, Mission Bhagirathi—Providing Safe Drinking Water to all, Vidyalakshmi Scheme – Interest Free Loan Scheme for IIT Students, Pradhan Mantri Gram Parivahan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) – Free Health Checkup for Pregnant Women, Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Sadak Yojana – Making Roads Safer, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Make in India, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and many other environment and national infrastructure schemes.

Second, decisive steps taken by Modi and team through two surgical strikes against the terrorist manufacturing hub have brought high applaud across the globe.

Third, this is the first time that Indians living abroad are regarded with high esteems even in Europe, America, Japan, Middle East and Africa.

Four, Modi has changed the diplomatic equation of the globe: India and the developed countries on one side and Pakistan is on another with China.

Five, India has seen a paradigm shift in foreign policy thereby making Israel a close strategic partner and the USA a close ally, which, if had happened in 1950s, the entire geopolitics of Asia would have been different.

Six, People in Europe and America are more interested now than ever before in the classical texts of India has written thousands of years ago when the West was haunting in wild boats. We are one of the oldest civilizations with “Unity in Diversity” bond maintained through a Pan India culture.

Seven, not a single case of corruption could be pointed out during this period since 2014. Eight, dignity and respect to our Military have been upheld by Modi led NDA. Nine, it required superhuman guts to implement de-monetization to try to bring the economy into ‘formal sector’, which was only 6% in November 2016. Ten, another huge task is implementing nationwide GST, which was deferred by UPA and Left.

Finally, Modi and team have been able to divide India into two groups: terrorist subsidizers and India lovers. What’s in the air of India towards this election? The leaders of some opposition parties, whose objectives are nothing more than personal Modi hatred, have determined to form a grand alliance with a view to hindering the universal development projects of NDA from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The self-interested political leaders of a few opposition parties have christened this alliance as “Mahagathbandhan”.

This very concept is illogical since the leaders under this alliance do not have any nationalistic common objective. When the interest of these parties will differ, the building of grand alliance will collapse all of a sudden creating a void in the security of the country and also the welfare schemes. Hope Nostradamus predictions hold good. Our Constitution says that India is a democratic country. But there is a venomous tendency in some states to secede from Indian federation.

In some such states, public money is being spent as dole instead of infrastructure creation thereby making the people perennially dependent on donation. Moreover, the opposition parties have no socio-economic issues to counter NDA performance. Mr. Gandhi, the Congress leader, has nothing concrete to say except inviting frequent onslaughts in social media.

The tragedy of this alliance is that there is no consensus prime ministerial candidate; each of these local leaders has a covert ambition of becoming the PM of India. This aptly fits into the story of the crow day dreaming to become a peacock. It is really a sorry state for the nation that the make belief prime ministerial candidate does not know that Mizoram is a state in India. And the sister? Better not to deal with it.

Nepotism does not have any limit in India. Unfortunate we are. India doubtless needs a strong Government for the next few terms to cure our Motherland from having different laws in different parts and for different communities. The Nation needs to tackle this serious problem with firmness on the basis of one country, one norm, one vote. The people should not allow Nehruvian Leftist hegemony any more.

A democratic Government should aim at creating infrastructure and employment opportunities by setting up key industries through either backward or forward linkages. Herein lies the value of a strong Government instead of a pauperized opportunistic one at the cost of the Nation. Let the hope of Ratan TATA and N. R. Narayanmurthy come true.

Modi has raised the slogan “Sab Ka Sath, Sab Ka Bikash” (with everybody, progress for all). He has certainly practiced tremendous art of detachment, a millionth of which is lacking in any of the opposition leaders. The Eastern state having the largest international porous border needs Modi led NDA more.

So the choice is up to the voters whether they want to see a strong global power house or a feudal hegemony maximizing private gains at the cost of the nation.
