The victory run of BJP under PM Modi’s leadership seems to be unending. After the success in Presidential and vice-presidential elections, the next big victory for BJP was achieved in Maharashtra’s Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) elections 2017 by securing 61 of the 95 seats.
Congress has to settle for just 10 seats and the Shiva Sena was successful to bag 22 seats and Sharad Pawar’s NCP didn’t even won a single seat whereas in the year 2012, NCP had won 27 seats. Two independent candidates also won the election.
Before the current regime, the civic body was a Congress-NCP bastion but the tables have now turned in BJP’s favour. From a coalition partner in the previous term, Modi’s party is now the single largest party in Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation.
The BJP’s victory is also a shot in the arm for chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, under whose leadership the party contested the elections.
The election for the MBMC was held on Sunday and there were 509 candidates had contested.
“I am thankful to the citizens of Mira Bhayander. They have given us a huge win. This is the result of the trust and the environment of development brought forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is the hard work of Team BJP which has spread this sense of trust in the area which resulted in the win. I ensure the citizens of Mira Bhayander that the developmental works that through medium of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation, we would hasten then work and fulfil people’s wishes and expectations”, these are words of Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
The voting was held for 94 seats, out of 95. One unopposed seat, had already been won by Congress.

Is this the end of Congress?
Yet again the Congress party has failed to show its charisma in the elections even though it had produced several leaders from Maharashtra. Once again the disruptive politics has cost severely to the Congress.
Warning sign to Shiva Sena!!!
Shiva Sena has its strong hold it Maharashtra but has failed to emerge as a severe competitor to BJP. This is because when PM Modi is firm in his vision and mission, his opponents try to politicise each and every issue.
So the corrupt agendas have been rightly identified and punishment by the voters of Maharashtra. If this trend continues, PM Modi led BJP is sure to gain the throne in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
