Muslim doctor shows big heart, pledges to donate organs but Madrasa issues fatwa against him!

A doctor from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh Arshad Mansuri recently pledged to donate his organs to the needy people after his death. His kind gesture gained him popularity and appreciation from all over the state.

But the radical elements and extremists groups in his religion doesn’t seem to appreciate his gesture and have instead issued a fatwa against him and threatened him against donating organs. According to reports, a Madrasa in Kanpur issued fatwa against him and warned him to take back the pledge he made few days back.

Dr Arshad Mansuri speaking to ANI said, “I have pledged my organs for the welfare of the society. I also want the people from Muslim community to do the same. I came to know a fatwa has been issued against me for doing so.” He said that he has been receiving threats since the time he pledged to donate his organs and said Islam doesn’t allow you to donate organs.

But Mansuri said, he doesn’t believe that organ donation is bad and serving mankind is greater than following any religion.

“Fatwa also urged people to boycott me from the society. In my opinion maulanas are fake. To serve mankind is the biggest religious duty,” . “I have been getting threatening calls from unknown numbers. When I complained to Kanpur police they did not take any action,” Mansuri stated.

But a Maulana called Muneef Barkati in Kanpur said that Mansuri was spoiling the Muslim religion by spreading wrong information and misleading people. The Maulana said  “Mansuri had asked me how organ donation is considered in Islam; I replied that it’s banned. Someone who doesn’t follow what Allah has said, then there’re doubts on him being a Muslim,” “Mansuri could be a man who has just kept a Muslim name and is trying to defame Muslims,” Barkati asserted.

It is sad that these so-called religious heads believe that God would want to see people dying than being helped. It can be well noted that the former Indian cricketer Syed Kirmani was made to withdraw his pledge for organ donation after he was threatened by the Muslim groups.

It is unfortunate that these radical groups are creating fear in the society in the name of Islam and trying to play with the minds of people.
