Who is Neem Karoli Baba and how is Steve Job and Mark Zuckerberg linked with him?

Long before Indian engineers began to rule the roost in tech savy America, India had its own spiritual connect with today’s tech giants. Steve jobs deeply influenced by Indian spiritualism had visited India in the 1970s. Jobs completed his graduation in 1972 & before he could make it to India, he was well aware of India’s rich spiritual tradition. After his graduation from high school, jobs enrolled in non degree calligraphy classes & stayed with friends in a local hostel room. Struggling to earn money he ditched his college degree & also began to audit classes at Reed. He returned coke bottles for food money & never refrained himself from having weekly free meals at the local ‘Hare Krishna’ temple (Sunday free meals connect at the Hare Rama temple).

Jobs had come to India in 1974 to visit the Kainchi Dham Ashram in Nainital, (present day Uttarakhand) which later became the source of inspiration in bringing about a global tech powerhouse. Jobs had saved some money from his previous job as a technician at popular video games manufacturer, Atari in order to fund his India visit. Jobs could not see Neem Karoli Baba in person, as Neem Karoli Baba took Samadhi on September 11, 1973.Jobs spent some quality time at the Kainchi Dham. He returned from India, taking home a lot of positivity & eternal knowledge.

In 1976 jobs co-founded apple with Steve Wozniak, a college friend with whom he attended after school Hewlett Packard classes as well. Jobs had visited the Kainchi Dham Ashram (the Ashram of Neem Karoli Baba, considered to be a reincarnation of Lord Hanuman) and it is where he is believed to have got the vision to create apple.

Neem Karoli Baba had influenced several foreigners. Many Americans visited India during the 70s. The result of one such instance is for the world to see. During PM Modi’s Town Hall visit, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg also spoke about his Indian connect. He said that his company had hit a rough patch during its first few years and when he asked one of his mentors, Steve Jobs for advice, jobs recommended him to visit India in order to reconnect with the vision of the company. Facebook later became a social networking giant & there was no looking back for Zuckerberg & team.

Before you hit the ‘curious’ button, let me give you a few unknown facts about the great Neem Karoli Baba. Hollywood actress Julia Roberts was also said to be influenced by Neem Karoli Baba and was drawn to Hinduism because of him. A lot of Foreigners visit the Kainchi Dham Ashram every year.

Neem Karoli Baba was born in a Brahmin family in Akbarpur village of Firozabad District in Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that by the time Baba was 17, he knew everything. Neem Karoli Baba built Hanuman temples at many places. He also had an ashram at Texas, U.S.  Even before we began exporting Indian intellect abroad, global behemoths banked on the great Indian spiritual ideology. Steve Jobs & Mark Zuckerberg were nothing short of brilliant, but all they needed was a guru. Fortunately the guru appeared at the right time.
