The Congress is very fond of asking “What has Modi government done in 4 years”! Rahul Gandhi who cannot answer for his and his mom’s corrupt rule of 10 years and his family’s misrule of 5 decades, has no problem questioning Modi government who is able to bring positive change like no other government.
The left parties which is another face of the Congress have been very worried and are fighting an existential crisis in the country. They have gone desperate in spreading anti-National agenda in the country using their pawns like Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid and Jignesh Mevani. Riots, violence in the name of caste and religion is being spread by these same people who are apologists of the left party. We saw how Jignesh Mevani provoked people during the Bhima Koregaon event which lead to massive violence in Maharashtra. But despite 24-hour negative campaign on media against Modi and his government the left party badly lost Tripura in the 2018 assembly elections and this is exactly what has made them worry.
On one hand, they are losing power and the other their 30 years efforts to destroy East India is getting derailed as the Nationalist government has gone full-fledged war against the Naxals and Maoists. The main idea of left-wing terrorism is to dominate the villages in every place and keep them isolated from the rest of the country denying them of every development and facility. But the biggest weapon PM Modi used against these Naxals were the development and Army. Since the time he became the Prime Minister, he has framed a long time strategy to curb the Naxal menace in the Eastern states by providing road, air and water connectivity which has helped people to find jobs and livelihood. The government is fully focussed on providing school buildings, Anganwadi centres, primary health centres, drinking water supply, village roads, electric lights in public places. On the other hand, the army has been deployed in excess number in Naxal prone areas and have been naturalizing most affected region very efficiently.
Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba said the geographical spread of the LWE violence has shrunk significantly in the last four years due to a multi-pronged strategy involving security and development-related measures. In an interview to the Economic Times, he said “There is no influence or negligible presence of LWE in 44 districts and most of the Naxal violence is confined now only to 30 worst-affected districts.”
Gauba said significant features of the anti-Naxal policy were zero tolerance towards violence coupled with a big push to developmental activities so that benefits of new roads, bridges, telephone towers reach the poor and the vulnerable in the affected areas.
When Modi government came to power, the government had categorised 106 districts in 10 states as LWE-affected districts. These districts were covered under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) scheme for the purpose of reimbursement of security-related expenditure like transportation, communication, hiring of vehicles, stipend to surrendered Maoists, construction of infrastructure for forces etc.
So, out of 106 districts, 44 districts have now been freed from Naxal influence in just 4 years. However, 8 districts have been put under SRE as a pre-emptive step to check any attempts by Maoists to enhance the area of influence. According to the report, there has been 20 percent reduction in violence in the areas and 34 per cent reduction in related deaths in 2017 as compared to 2013, the official said.
So the entire Naxal belt is being reduced which has made the left party’s worry like never before. This is exactly why the so-called liberals in media, writers and pseudo intellects are hell bent to bring down Modi government and malign India’s image. So, those who blindly believe that Modi government should read the reports as to how the Maoists issue has reduced in most parts of East India.
