PM Modi received Japanese PM Shinzo Abe in his Native state of Gujarat’s capital city In Ahmedabad. PM Shinzo Abe who is on a two-day Visit to India for the fourth time. Exactly three years ago, Shinzo Abe had Flown down to Kyototo to welcome PM Narendra Modi, in his first bilateral visit outside India’s immediate neighbourhood within four months of Assuming office. The Schedule of the meeting between the two Leaders- there will be India-Japan annual summit meeting will be held in Gandhinagar on 14th Sept,2017. PM Modi & PM Abe are likely to review the progress in the multifaceted Co-operation between India & Japan under the framework of their “Special Strategic & Global Partnerships’. The Prime Minister’s office of Japan has put out a video on its YouTube of the high-speed rail Network which is set to reduce the Travel time between Ahmedabad & Mumbai from 8 hrs to 2hrs.
PM Modi Tweeted both in English as well as in Japanese:
“I look forward to welcoming PM @Abe Shinzo. I will be hosting him in Gujarat in our fourth annual summit together”.
Japanese PM Shinzo Abe’s visit is highlighted as an effort to cement ties between India & Japan. There was an 8 Km roadshow, A First-of-its-Kind roadshow from the city’s Airport to the iconic monument Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram. The road show begins from Ahmedabad Airport & heads towards Sabarmati Ashram highlighting the State’s rich Cultural heritage and its development which has taken place during Modi’s chief Ministerial days. To our surprise what I find is that the Japanese PM Abe is dressed in Lovely Khadi Blue overcoat & his wife Akie Abe is dressed in a beautiful Pink Coloured Salwar-Kameez. They visited Sabarmati Ashram, paid their tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. This time we find to our surprise that breaks the Protocol for welcoming the Japanese PM, by personally receiving him at the Airport in Ahmedabad.
Let me give you all the Significance of Japanese PM Shinzo to India—
PM Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe will lay the Foundation for the India’s first High speed rail project between Ahmedabad & Mumbai. This train is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two cities. Japan is a pioneer in high-speed rail Networks, and its Shinkansen bullet train is among the fastest in the world. Our PM Modi said” India truly values the relationship with Japan and we look forward to further boosting our bilateral ties in a wide range of sectors”. These two leaders will also revisit the recent progress in the multi-faceted co-operation between India & Japan under the framework of their ‘special Strategic and Global Partnership’ and which will set the tone & tenor for future.
Japanese PM Shinzo Abe’s India Visit set to see Asia-Africa Growth Corridor Launch—
This visit will also set to Launch the Asia-Africa Growth Corridor (AAGC) an initiative which is providing an alternative to One Belt One Road(OBOR), initiative of China. Asia-Africa Growth Corridor (AAGC) is a development co-operation initiative envisaged to link between the two continents. The Agreements also streamlines the development and co-operation Projects, quality Infrastructure and institutional connectivity, enhancing capacities and skills and people -to-people Partnerships. Both the Leaders of the two Nations will also give a brief overview of the Vision Statement of Asia-Africa Growth Corridor, during their summit. The initiative is being widely seen as an attempt to balance Beijing’s efforts to expand its Geopolitical influence in Asia and Africa, especially through the OBOR cross- continental connectivity initiative. Foreign Secretary S.Jaishankar, “We would naturally like the initiative (Asia-Africa Growth Corridor) to be based on universally recognised international norms, good governance, and equality”.
The Vision study for this corridor –the corridor will use Geographical Simulation Model to bring out the Economic gains for Africa. Mr.Jaishankar also said “There must be a strong sense of local ownership, which can only happen with consultative project designing, transfer of technology, and encouragement of skills”. He also further added that there is a think-tank working under the external Affairs Ministry. India has been opposing (CPEC), the flagship project under OBOR. The CPEC is proposed to passthrough Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Our Activities must fully confirm to balanced ecological & Environmental protection and Preservation standards.

The two leaders will also Launch a couple of Projects, including the Rs. 3,000cr. Suzuki car Manufacturing plant at Hansalpur, about 170Km from Ahmedabad, using a remote. As an Analyst, I can also visualise in another direction is that this visit becomes more important, as he is visiting Gujarat State, where our PM Modi has spent more than a decade as Chief Minister putting on the road map of progress from the other states especially in the Infrastructure. We also find that as a rare occasion as there is a shift of base from New Delhi to Gujarat for Japanese PM Abe on a bilateral visit to India. The fact shows how important Modi-Abe’s visit is as far as the Growth Prospects of Gujarat as well as for India. Many facts/ aspersions can be cast for Modi-Abe’s Visit and the grand preparations in Gujarat.
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s standing committee chairman Pravin Patel, said that “many people, including singing troupes who will be performing at 28 different locationsalong the roadshow, who will greet Modi & Abe”. Yes, indeed it was feast for eyes to watch, and being PM’s Bastion, he took a keen interest personally for this grand welcome to PM Abe.

We also find that Gujarat Planned a second Japanese- supported industrial park at Sanand. It is planned on over 1,000 hectares, about ten times the size of the existing one at Mandal. This park is also expected to attract over Rs. 20,000cr. Of investment. There are plans for a residential colony probably for expats, which will be on par with Japanese standards, which are also being made. Bilateral talks between Indian & Japanese delegation’s area also expected and several MoUs are expected to be signed at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. Chief Minister of Gujarat will host a banquet in the honour of both the Leaders.
I would like to conclude my thoughts in epitomising this friendly relationship between the two Nations, wherein there will be a paradigm shift for strengthening our bilateral ties in Asian Continent. As we all know Japan is the oldest democracy of Asia and Post re-election in 2016, PM Shinzo Abe got opportunities to rejuvenate the Japanese Economy, revival of Shintoism, which has played a pivotal role in reinvigorating the Japanese approach to emerging strategic geo-politicalneeds. Japan is all set to play a meaningful role in the Asia-Pacific region for maintaining peace & order in Asia. Japan is a Technological Power too, which can play a vital role in transforming emerging Asian Powers, like India. The Indo-Japan is among the strongest relationship shared by two Asian Nations which is taken to another higher level by this visit. Our PM Modi who is well equipped to visualize a stronger Nation has set a clear road map towards Revolutionizing the wheels of Production & as well as for Vikas & Parivartan for Bharat & Bharatvasis.
