AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has slammed the Congress President hypocrisy for inviting former President of India Pranab Mukherjee to the Iftar Party. Owaisi has said that Pranab ‘gave a Speech at RSS Head Office, praised it’s Founder and comfortably came to the Janeudhari Iftar party.
Owaisi said, “if AIMIM contests elections, we are called communal, but Rahul sharing the table with Pranab is normal, acceptable ‘hypocrisy of highest order’”.
Days after a row erupted over his address at the RSS headquarters, the former president Pranab Mukherjee broke bread with Rahul Gandhi at an Iftar party hosted by the Congress chief in New Delhi. Among the prominent personalities present at the Mukherjee’s predecessor Pratibha Patil and former Prime minister Manmohan Singh, besides former vice president Hamid Ansari besides a host of opposition leaders.
The AIMIM chief had previously hit out at former President Pranab Mukherjee for his attendance and speech at RSS headquarters. Addressing a gathering at the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad, Owaisi had said, “Congress is finished.”
“Congress is finished. A man who spent 50 years in Congress and was President of India visited RSS headquarters. Do you still have hopes from this party?” said the AIMIM President.
Meanwhile, another row was triggered by Rahul Gandhi’s Iftar party after a video of the Congress President mocking PM Narendra Modi surfaced online. In the clip, the Congress party president is seen making fun of the Fitness Challenge video uploaded by the Prime Minister earlier that morning, calling it ‘bizarre’!!
Rahul Gandhi’s iftar party was meant for sending a strong message on Opposition Unity in their fight against Modi. Instead, the event turned out to be a mere political dinner, where most of the top bosses of regional outfits decided to stay away.

The INC India and Rahul Gandhi and your party were alliance partners in erstwhile United State of AP government. Stop the habit of cribbing over everything and anything. Both these parties are the most communal hatred spreading parties in our nation.
I accept the written note was grossly unnecessary but the speech by Pranab Mukherjee was evocative of Indian pluralism and democracy also at the same time cringe-worthy for RSS. Terrific that Rahul Gandhi had him at the Congress Iftar party, an event we all hail.
