What’s in a name? William Shakespeare was unable to foresee the future when he came up with this question, in Romeo & Juliet. Anyone who has been a keen observer of Indian politics will tell you that a lot is at stake when there are certain names involved. There are the Gandhis & the Nehrus, brands which epitomise dynastic rule in Indian politics. Indira Gandhi was the natural heir to Jawaharlal Nehru’s failed legacy.
Indira was admitted to Oxford University but had to leave due to non-performance. She was then admitted to Rabindranath Tagore’s Shantiniketan, but was chased out for unsatisfactory conduct. After being thrown out from Shantiniketan, Indira became detached as her father was busy with politics & mother was admitted in Switzerland due to tuberculosis. This is where, Feroze Khan stepped in. Khan was the son of a grocer named Nawab Khan who supplied wines to Jawaharlal Nehru’s household in Allahabad. The then governor of Maharashtra, Dr Shriprakash warned Nehru about Indira’s illicit relationship with Feroze. Indira was impressed with Feroze who was quite sympathetic to her. Feroze was then in England & Indira converted to Islam in order to get married to Feroze. She married Feroze in a London mosque. Indira Priyadarshini Nehru changed her name Maimuna Begum after marriage.
Indira’s mother Kamala Nehru was against the marriage but could not do anything. Nehru too feared that this would affect his political career. So, Nehru asked Feroze Khan to change his name to Feroze Gandhi. The change of name had nothing to with change of religion. It was just a matter of changing the name by affidavit. The name was given with the motive of creating a direct path for Indira to enter politics later. Indira & Feroze had succeeded in fooling the people of India on their return. Nehru organised a mock Vedic marriage for public consumption. Nehru’s plan of concealing identities had just hit the bull’s eye.
Indira had two sons, Rajiv & Sanjay. Her younger son was originally named Sanjiv, as it rhymed with Rajiv. Sanjiv was arrested in the UK for a car theft & his passport was seized. Indira Gandhi directed the Indian ambassador to UK, Krishna Menon to change Sanjiv’s name to Sanjay and procure a new passport. Thus Sanjiv Gandhi came to be known as Sanjay Gandhi.
It is a known fact that after the birth of Rajiv Gandhi, Indira & Feroze lived separately. The book “The Nehru Dynasty” by K.N Rao states that Indira’s second son was not born to Feroze Gandhi. He was the son of another Muslim gentleman named Mohammed Yunus. Sanjay Gandhi’s marriage to Sikh Girl Maneka also took place in Yunus’ house. Yunus was unhappy with Sanjay’s decision of getting married to a Sikh girl. He wanted Sanjay to get married to a Muslim girl. Yunus also was in uncontrollable grief after Sanjay’s death. In his book (Persons, Passions & Politics), Yunus gives an account of baby Sanjay’s circumcision, following Islamic custom.
It is an open secret that Sanjay Gandhi blackmailed his mother. Many people believed him to be indirectly controlling the Government. Sanjay exercised a strong & deep control over his mother’s government. When the news of Sanjay Gandhi’s death reached Indira Gandhi, her first reaction was “Where are his keys & wrist watch?” Some deep secrets about the dynasty were hidden in those objects. Even Sanjay Gandhi’s plane accident was mysterious. Indira Gandhi prohibited any enquiry, as she was the PM. Some people even believed that Indira was involved in the suspicious accident.
The Book “The life of Indira Gandhi Nehru” by Katherine frank throws light on Indira’s numerous love affairs. It is written that Indira’s first love affair was with her German teacher at Shantiniketan. She also had affairs with M.O Mathai (father’s secretary), then Dhirendra Brahmachari (her yoga teacher) and at last with Dinesh Singh (foreign Minister).
Indira also had a special liking for the Mughals. On an official visit to Afghanistan she visited Babur’s grave. According to foreign minister K Natwar Singh who accompanied Indira during the visit, she stood there for a few minutes & with her head bent down & hands folded she offered reverence to Babur. Babur was the founder of the Mughal rule in India from which the Nehru Gandhi dynasty is said to have descended.
There are a myriad of institutes of higher education named after Rajiv Gandhi, but Rajiv himself was a person of low calibre. From 1962-65, Rajiv had enrolled for a mechanical engineering at trinity college, but could not complete the course as he was unable to pass the exams. Next year in 1966, he joined Imperial College but had to leave again without a degree.
KN Rao in book alleges that Rajiv became a catholic to marry Antonio Maino. Rajiv became Roberto. His son’s name is Raul & daughter’s name is Bianca. The names have been cleverly presented as Rahul &Priyanka. When it came to personal behaviour, Rajiv was more of a Mughal. He looked back at Aurangzeb’s rule with pride, and instigated the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots. He also claimed to be Parsi, since his Paternal Grandmother was originally a Parsi. She had been abandoned by the Parsi community after getting married to Nawab Khan.
Subramanian Swamy writes that Sonia Gandhi’s original name was Antonio Maino. Her father was a mason. He was an activist of the notorious fascist regime and served a five year imprisonment in Russia. Sonia Gandhi is a high-school dropout who moved to London & studied some English to get the job of a waitress in a local restaurant in London. She had learnt English from an English speaking temporary course in Cambridge. However, she claims to have graduated from Cambridge.
Sonia Gandhi & Madhavrao Scindia were said to be very close to each other. They initially met in the UK before her marriage to Rajiv. But the friendship blossomed even after marriage. One night at 2 AM in 1982, Scindia & Sonia were caught together when their car met with an accident near IIT Delhi Main Gate.
When Indira & Rajiv were PMs, crates of Indian treasures like Temple structures, antiques, paintings were sent to Rome. Arjun Singh who later became a Union Minister organised the loot. Unchecked by customs they were to be sold in two shops named Ethnica & Ganapati, owned by Sonia’s Sister Alessandra Maino Vinci.
Indira Gandhi died due to loss of blood. After Indira was fired upon, Sonia strangely insisted that bleeding Indira Gandhi must be taken to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia hospital instead of taking her to AIIMS in the opposite direction which had a contingency protocol to precisely deal with such events. Sonia Gandhi did not allow Indira Gandhi to be taken to AIIMS & wasted 24 crucial minutes which could have saved Indira’s life.
Rajesh Pilot & Madhavrao Scindia were top contenders for the PM’s post and hence killed under mysterious circumstances. There are also circumstantial evidences pointing to a possible link between the LTTE and Maino Family in Rajiv Gandhi’s killing.
In 1992 Sonia Gandhi revived her Italian Citizenship. As per Italian law her children qualify as Italians as Sonia was Italian when she gave birth to them. If there is a law that important posts in India like the President & the Prime Minister should not be held by a foreign citizen, Rahul Gandhi would be automatically disqualified to contend for the post of Prime Minister.
After finishing school, Rahul Gandhi got into St Stephens College. His admission was on the basis of a sports quota for rifle shooting. Merit and the Gandhi families have been distant foes for 70 years now. After a brief stint at St Stephens, Rahul completed his BA from Rollins College in Florida in 1994. The very next year he received his M. Phil without even enrolling for a master’s degree. Economist, Amartya Sen is said to be behind his one year M. Phil.
In 2008 Rahul Gandhi was prevented from using an auditorium of Chandra Shekhar University in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently the vice-chancellor of the University, VK Suri, was ousted by the UP governor. During the 26/11 attacks, Rahul was said to be partying with his friends till 5 am in the morning. During the 2007 UP campaign Rahul Gandhi said that if any of his family members were active in politics, then the Babri Masjid would not have fallen.
Rahul had also spent 3 days with his girlfriend Veronica in a resort in Kerala. On December 31,2004, John M Itty, a retired college professor in Alappuzha district of Kerala contended that action should be taken against Rahul Gandhi & his girlfriend under the Immoral Trafficking Act as they were not married.
The Swiss magazine Schweizer Illustrierte’s 11 November 1991 issue revealed that Rahul Gandhi was the beneficiary of accounts worth US $2 Billion from his mother. A report from the Swiss banking association revealed that the combined deposits of Indian citizens are far greater than any other country, a total of US $ 1.4 trillion, and a figure exceeding the GDP of India.
This dynasty rule has completely ruined India. From tracing their origins to the Mughals, to having the suspected Vatican links, the family has done it all. Several characters from the family have unfortunately been immortalized for only taking India to an all-time low.
