West Bengal is said to be the gateway for the illegal immigrants to India due to the broad heart of its chief minister Mamata Banerjee. This has made impossible to the Indians in the state to lead a peaceful life. Adding to it, the political killings that are carried out by the TMC men seems no end.
In the panchayat elections that were held earlier this year, we had seen how the goons of Mamata Banerjee had hijacked the entire election. But as a ray of hope to the Bengalis, especially to the Hindus, the reports have said that BJP is going to make huge gains in West Bengal during the Lok Sabha elections which will be held in 2019.
This has terrified the TMC and that’s why Mamata Banerjee had even tried to appease the Hindus during the Durga pooja by offering various facilities, which was opposed by Muslims groups. Now another intense battle is taking place between BJP chief Amit Shah and Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal.
The BJP had planned to hold Rath Yatra which was scheduled to kick-off from Cooch Behar on 7th of December and on December 9 from Kakdwip in South 24 Parganas district and on December 14 from Tarapith temple in Birbhum district.
But the Calcutta High Court refused to grant permission for the BJP’s Rath Yatra. But later on the Calcutta High Court division bench repealed the single bench ruling cancelling Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) rath yatra and directed three BJP representatives to hold a meeting with West Bengal’s Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and Director General of Police of the state to discuss plans to conduct three legs of the rath yatra.
Due to this development, the BJP had to postpone its Rath Yatra in Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal.
Meanwhile, the BJP chief Amit Shah promised that the Rath Yatra will not be cancelled and dared Mamata Banerjee to stop him if she can. He said “The yatra will take place, all the three yatras will happen. In all of them, my participation is confirmed. Let Mamata Banerjee stop me”.
He even added “Mamata didi’s attempts to deny the BJP its legitimate right to undertake political campaign in the state to expose TMC’ misgovernance has been thwarted by Court, which has asked Bengal admin to cooperate. Big win for democracy! BJP will soon set out on its Gantantra Bachao Yatra”.
West Bengal is very significant for the BJP as it consists 42 MP seats and the BJP is eyeing over 20 seats.
